Gilbere Forte’ was born in Flint, Michigan, moved to Chicago, then moved to Philadelphia where he pursued a career in music by attending Temple University. Above is his single off his debut album which I will get to later. 


The rapper/producer did some freestyles and remixes and in February this year put out a mixtape sampler, entitled Gilbere Forte’ is BLVCK (download). This summer, Gilbere released his debut album through Anigma/RPM Grp Records, 87 Dreams with his popularity increasing further. 


After his remix to the song “Alors on Danse” by Belgian artist Stromae alongside Kanye West, I and many other blogs started to take notice. 


Today I bring you two songs Gilbere did remixes over. The first is a remix to the Freelance Whales song called “1st Floor” and the second is a remix to Yeasayer’s remix to the Florence & The Machine song called “Dog Days Are Over”. I like “1st Floor” more, it’s more catchy and it’s produced by a member of Passion Pit who I love.
