This might be the worst time to write about The Drums, a Brooklyn-based indie-pop band whose guitarist, Adam Kessler, left the band within the last week. You can read about it via The Guardian.

Anyways, The Drums are a cross between Vampire Weekend and also Surfer Blood, who coincidentally, The Drums are touring with. They have this beach pop kind of sound and it really makes me want to go back to summer and learn to surf. Listen and download these three songs below.

“Let’s Go Surfing” is one of my favorites by them which has a cool feel to it with awesome instrumentals and lyrics that make you want to surf.

“Saddest Summer” is another great song that makes you not want to go back to summer (although I love summer).

“When I Come Home” is another catchy song with a love story involved in the lyrics.

Anyways I hope you enjoy the songs and I hope this post isn’t for nothing as The Drums, one of the fastest-growing indie bands of 2010, may stop the current tour they’re on with Surfer Blood and may cancel as the opening act for Kings of Leon in a concert series with them at Hyde Park later this year.
For more on The Drums, just google them, they are kind of a big deal and fairly easy to learn more about.
