Now that summer’s coming up, I think everyone needs some more reggae music in their lives. I mean, who isn’t thinking about hanging out in some great weather? Anyway, Hawaii’s THE GREEN will fulfill all of your wishes for some music that you can turn on and, no matter where you are or what time of year it is, imagine that you’re hanging at the beach in summertime. Their music is cool because they add a unique Hawaiian vibe to their sound, which is something you don’t see in most reggae today.
The Green’s debut self titled album was named iTunes best reggae album of 2010, and I think it definitely deserves the title. Their music can be light and fun like you’re sipping a drink on the beach, pay some great homage to legends like Bob Marley, or get a little intense a la some John Brown’s Body. I think everyone looking for some new chill tunes should definitely purchase The Green’s album, which you can do here. You can also listen to their tracks “Never” and “Wake up” below:

The Green were awarded best reggae album at the 2011 Hawaii Music Awards and are on the last leg of a two month tour. You can find the dates on their Facebook page. You should definitely hit them up when they come through your town. Check out the video below for a taste of their live show.
