Euforquestra, out of Ft. Collins, Colorado, is a band with a real original sound. They are a seven piece band with a serious afrobeat feel that mixes in reggae and jam band influences. These guys don’t just noodle. They trade solos and can jam out while still maintaining a super tight feel. These guys are high energy and know how to bring the party.
I got the chance to see them the other night in Boulder, CO, and they seriously brought it. A song may start off with the band grooving off a single riff, or playing one of their more mellow songs, but every time they would methodically build the song up to huge crescendos and the crowd would go wild. It’s the formula for a fun show.
In 2009, Euforquestra released a full length album, Soup, that you can download for free off their website. The album showcases the different sides of the band, with some of the songs being jam heavy, upbeat, and rowdy to more slowed down, chilled out reggae stuff.
