Soundcloud’s Best: October *Tievoli, HOVAT, Face The King, Inspired And The Sleep, Mastermind

October 31st, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Before Bigs Exclusive, Hip-Hop/Rap, Mashup, Rock, Soundcloud's Best |

Once again we got a fairly solid mix of tracks submitted to us and below are our five favorites ranging from some hip-hop to some rock. Here’s our best soundcloud submissions for the month of October.

First comes a party mashup from Tievoli who has been featured here a few times with solid party mashups to groove to. This one mixes Dragonette, Martin Solveig and Flo Rida. It’s a fun mashup for a fun night.

Here’s HOVAT‘s latest hip-hop jam with a chill flow and smooth beat.

Next comes a rock song from Face The King. This song has a great pick-me-up feel that just gets better as the song progresses. Reminds me of Muse and 30 Seconds to Mars. This is a band to watch out for!

We don’t post a ton of Lo-Fi as it can get kind of boring and make you sleepy but this is some sweet fun lo-fi that is fairly easy to get into. Inspired And The Sleep are an interesting band and I look forward to more. This song is considered bliss beat lo-fi, loving the flute usage as well! DOWNLOAD

Lastly an unusual hip-hop song form an unusual hip-hop artist. Mastermind has a weird flow, brings this weird circus beat but you know what, it kind of works and is so interesting I dig it and look forward to more from the up-and-coming MC.

Hey Kids,

I’ve had a little pre-listen before this release, and I can guarantee this is music that makes you feel good. VIBE brings the beach to wherever you are. This is really well done hip hop blended with some of the catchiest hooks in decades. Seriously, a MUST DOWNLOAD.

Big shout out to my boys Rossy, Chris Young & Leo Volcy. This is GOOD music!

New Sound FX tracks coming your way. This time they provide us with “Stadium Music” and “Get By” which are both on their upcoming project, The Sunset LP. These guys are young and still need to develop. However, they do have some talent and it will be interesting to see how they progress into artists. I look forward to the rest of the LP. Enjoy!

Hidden Gem: Bombs & Bottles *Electro-Pop artist/DJ/producer

October 27th, 2011 by | Dubstep, Electropop, Hidden Gem, House |

There’s a young electro-pop Artist/DJ/Producer by the name of Bombs & Bottles from New York City. He just released his 5-track EP titled “Tonight”. The EP chronicles a night out on the town from both a man and woman’s perspective, their chase through the club and a passionate fling at the end of the night and encompasses many musical genres from House, Pop, Electro, and Dubstep to name a few.

Below is the single released early this month from Bombs & Bottles, “When The Lights Go Out”, his best track which has an R&B/Dubstep feel that is certified 5-star on my iTunes. The production is so banging, this song is proof that Bombs & Bottles has serious potential for mainstream success.

Here’s the full playlist to listen and download from the five track EP, Tonight.

Video: Hoodie Allen – “James Franco”

October 27th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Here’s what Hoodie Allen told us when he dropped his latest video off in our inbox:

So back in July when I released Leap Year (DOWNLOAD), I let the fans decide which videos they wanted to see off the project. Overwhelmingly, people wanted to see visuals for the song “James Franco”. We went all the way to Hollywood to shoot this in an effort to find the man behind the song…turns out he wasn’t too hard to find.

Leap Year is a must-download mixtape and I’m happy that as a fan he chose the song “James Franco” to make his next music video for. The fact he flew out to LA to shoot the visuals in Venice Beach, Hollywood and other parts of Los Angeles I have frequented only adds to how much I enjoy this video.

Listen and download “James Franco”.

Hidden Gem: Brite Futures *punk rock Abba disco Osmonds with chainsaws

October 27th, 2011 by | Dance, Disco, Hidden Gem, Music Video, New Wave, Rock |

I heard this song back in March on a SXSW 2011 torrent Playlist but recently @DrewShannon hit us up with the official single version which is available FREE to download. “Baby Rain” is off their upcoming album, Dark Past, due out November 1.

Here’s a little about Brite Futures whose name is fitting for the potential their music has:

Dubbed “punk rock Abba disco Osmonds with chainsaws” by the Seattle-based quintet itself, the album’s synth-happy mix of New Wave, rock, funk, and dance music packs all the boundless pep of a hyperactive kindergartener on a never-ending sugar high.”

XV – “Blame Yourself” (featuring GLC, Emilio Rojas, & Casey Veggies)

New Vizzy Track!

XV returns with an awesome new track featuring some solid artists. This time he provides us with “Blame Yourself” with GLC, Emilio Rojas and Casey Veggies adding in their own verses. I don’t know how Vizzy isn’t on Wiz Khalifa’s status. He clearly is just as talented and is a great rapper not to mention he has producer Seven on his side who was also on the boards for this track as well. Definitely take a listen to this track. You will not regret it. Enjoy!
