Recently East-coast chill-hop duo Aer released The Bright Side, an album that embodies everything that AER wants their fans to know about them; it’s real, organic, straight up, no behind- the-curtain music. The Bright Side has been in production since January and has been a plan of their’s for years before.

“Go It Alone” is the first single off Tate Tucker‘s next project, indie/hip-hop EP WEST/RIDGE. The track is produced by P.D. (a former Trumpet player in the Long Beach State Orchestra) and features a sample from Tate’s favorite Beck song “Go It Alone”. The video is shot all over Los Angeles including Venice Beach and Santa Monica where Tate was raised.
Not only do I dig the production on this track but the video brings out the song’s chill vibes. Not sure if I dig the song’s message that much but I love how chill this song is as Tate Tucker is probably one of the most underrated up-and-coming rappers in the game, plus he goes to school so I have much respect for a musician that does school and music at the same time.

New FREE download from Hoodie Allen called “Hey Now”. It’s produced by Something Silent, who I’ve never heard of before and not Hoodie’s usual producer, RJF. Nonetheless, the song is a hot one and a MUST-DOWNLOAD!
This song was actually going to be on All American but Hoodie decided to just hold on to it for a little and release for free instead. “Hey Now” is just a BANGER: really fun party track with some EDM and trap influences on the production side so turn it up loud and bother your neighbors! Here is Aziz‘s latest project with singer and producer Mike Irving titled “City Livin.” It’s a very chill-hop summer song and the video pretty much conveys the chill vibes of the song.
The song will be featured individually on both Mike and Aziz’s upcoming projects; Mike Irving dropping his first EP “Until My Heart Stops” on August 6th and Aziz‘s next mixtape coming later in September.

Here’s what The Pass had to say to us about the song and the upcoming album:
We’re very excited to share our first single, “Without Warning”, off our second LP, Melt. For close to two years now we’ve been working on Melt and had the wonderful mixing help of Alex Aldi who recently finished up work with the new Passion Pit and Holy Ghost!. We’re staying a little mum on the release date/label for now, but wanted to give a taste off our new record which as all bands who send their work to bloggers…we hope you enjoy.
Melt is the culmination of taking a lot of our goals when we started our band and combining it with all the things we learned being together for two and a half years. Everything you learn on the road……what works and what doesnt……what you like and what you dont, what makes people want to smile or scratch their heads. Ultimately, our goal was still to make a fun album but also reach new levels of emotion…..nostalgia and intrigue, longing and desire, complacency or heartbrokenness. Some songs have a bit darker or experimental sound than our previous album while others would be very at home at a disco.
Stream and DOWNLOAD “Without Warning” below. It’s a MUST-LISTEN indie electronic rock song!

Life Down Here is a pop-punk Los Angeles based quartet fronted by lesbian Michelle Blanchard. Their team recently approached us about premiering their behind-the-scenes in-studio video and offering their latest single, “All That You Are” for free download. I’d never heard of the band before but after I watched the video and heard “All That You Are”, I felt this band showed serious potential that reminds me of bands like Paramore and Evanescence.

The Wilde really nails it in his collaboration with Lucky Fours (aka Gio Jacuzzi), “Run.” Matching a powerpop melody with a super catchy hook, “I don’t really know what it feels like to live in the sun / but now I really know that it feels right to break free and run,” their controlled spoken word / rap makes escapism feel less guilty.
Indulge the ears and get it while its hot – aka, download “Run” for free:
