Download: Hoodie Allen – Feel The Love

August 27th, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

New FREE track from Hoodie Allen called “Feel The Love”, here’s what he had to say about it.

Like a lot of my fans, I am always searching for new artists and new music that excites me. On past mixtapes, I’ve been very influenced by the indie and pop music I’ve discovered online and it has led to me putting my own creative flip on a lot of tracks and making it my own. When I was in London in May, I heard this amazing track by Rudimental called “Feel The Love” which was hugely popular there but seemed to be pretty unknown in the states.

With the help of my longtime producer RJF, I bring you “Feel The Love” giving my fans the classic upbeat indie hop vibes they’ve come to love. “Feel The Love” is very much a thank you to all the fans and sites for all the great things they have helped us achieve in the past year. It’s a perfect track to mark the end of summer!

Listen and download “Feel The Love” below, which samples Rudimental‘s “Feel The Love”.

Review: Mad Decent Block Party Los Angeles

August 26th, 2012 by | Concert/Festival Review, Dance, Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Electro, Electropop, Hip-Hop/Rap, House, Music Video, Remix, Techno |

Yesterday, I attended the Mad Decent Block Party in Los Angeles. I saw performances from Zeds DeadTheophilus London, Munchi, Paul Devro, 3Ball MTY, Bonde Do Role, Clockwork, Casey Veggies and Paper Diamond. I pretty much saw every act I wanted to and saw at least one that reaffirmed my belief he will not be a breakout star. Read my review below. (more…)

August 24th, 2012 by | Dance, Electro, Mashup |

I am proud to bring to you my newest work, The Invasion EP. The EP consists of 8 tracks that I prepared for my DC Invasion this upcoming week. The tracks on the album are ones that not only remind me of DC but remind DC of me. Either the beats or the vocals in some way will trigger a great memory of DC for all the great people that have seen me spin here. Keep reading for the tracklist. ENJOY!!

Stream: Kanga – Conversations With Delusional People

August 24th, 2012 by | Drum & Bass, Dubstep |

Not sure how I would describe this song. Kanga creates a mix of drum & bass with some weird dubstep that isn’t annoying. Shout out to @IamJove for sending this our way. Stream below and keep an eye out on Kanga!

I couldn’t find a cover art so I decided to post a conversation between two musicians who sometimes can be quite delusional about the world around them.

Music Video: Sammy Adams – “All Night Long”

August 24th, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Earlier this week, Sammy Adams released his newest music video. It’s for his track “All Night Longer”. The visuals are actually pretty cool, with items being drawn on during a party scene. However, the track is pretty cheesy. I’ve been on the fence with this Boston rapper since I saw him perform at Lollapalooza in 2011. This video is cool though.

August 23rd, 2012 by | Dance, Dubstep, Electro, Electropop, Remix, Remix Battle |

If you haven’t heard Static Revenger‘s electro-pop top -40 hit “Turn The World On” featuring Dev, listen and download the original here. In the last week, I came across two remixes to this song that specifically stood out to me; the genre-blending remix from TheFatRat and the dubstep/electro remix from Protohype & Kezwik. Listen to them both below and let us know which you like more! (more…)

Sikai – Ready or Not

August 23rd, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Connecticut rapper Sikai just dropped has just dropped a new track (with accompanying video) for the track “Ready or Not.” The track will be featured on his upcoming project, “Stop the Violence, Keep the Peace.”

The highlight and instant familiarity of “Ready or Not” comes from it’s beat, lifted from the Fugees classic song of the same name, and he even mentions Lauryn Hill. However Sikai’s flow is geared much more towards American audiences who are fans of underground hip-hop.

Music Video: Yury – “Esoteric”

August 22nd, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

As featured on Best You Never Heard Volume 7: Summer Underdogs, Pittsburgh rapper Yury continues on his grind with a solid music video to his track “Esoteric”. He samples Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” featuring Lil Reese. I love that instrumental and Yury’s flow is really legit as well. Also I really dig the vintage Super Mario Bros from Super Nintendo. Brings back some great memories. I see big things from him in the near future.

Enjoy the video! (more…)

The Dean’s List – “Hennessy At Cookouts”

August 21st, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Last night, the Dean’s List gave a new taste of what their style of music will be for their upcoming project, Jerusalem, due to release on September 17th. In all honesty, “Hennessy At Cookouts” is not their best work. I’ve noticed a decline in the quality of their music since The Drive-In released in early 2011.

Though, it’s tough to fully judge what the whole Jerusalem project will be like just from one-track off of it, it’s all I can base my opinion on so far and I hope I hear improvements as new tracks drop in the near future. I’ve been following and supporting this group for over two years now and will continue to support them. I just hope they can create more music similar to their first two mixtapes.

Pacific Festival: The Dunes 2012 preview + official festival mix

August 21st, 2012 by | Before Bigs Exclusive, Daily Mix, Guest Mix |

Southern California’s Pacific Festival: The Dunes 2012 is quickly approaching and I thought I would provide some details into one of the most underrated festivals in California. Not only is there a great variety of music from retro soul crooner Mayer Hawthorne to daytime disco duo Poolside to probably the best electro-dance pop/rock band ever, Capital Cities, this is a festival you don’t want to miss on Sunday September 2! This festival will be set against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean at The Dunes in Newport Beach with DJ sets from plenty of up-and-comers you need to see live including Bag Raiders, Goldroom andMiami Horror to name a few.

The best way for me to express my excitement for Pacific Festival (which we reviewed last year), is to once again provide the “unofficial” Pacific Festival 2012 mixtape, which features 15 of my favorite songs from the acts performing at this year’s festival. Stream the 15-track mix below as well as the official “Pacific Festival: The Dunes 2012” mix. Purchase tickets here and visit for more info on this must-see event that added the people behind Identity Festival to make this year’s festival even more of a rager! (more…)
