Download: Solidisco – Turn Around

October 31st, 2012 by | Dance, Disco, House |

New FREE download from house duo Solidisco, one of my favorite up-and-coming DJ duos in the EDM game. “Turn Around” has this retro disco-house feel that is a funk-filled reworking of the George Benson classic. A nu-disco vibe drives the track to a new place as “Turn Around” just makes you feel good and want to dance or sing along

Stream and download “Turn Around” below.

Video: Syron – Breaking

October 29th, 2012 by | Chill/Jam/Reggae, Electronic Dance Music, Music Video |

I find myself to be a sucker for a British accent and this time, its coming from the 19 year old voice of Syron. Combining an accent and soulful vocals is a recipe for success, which is clearly evident on “Breaking.”

“Breaking” is set to drop soon on the rising London label, Black Butter Records.

Hidden Gem: Py *London electronic pop

October 25th, 2012 by | Chill/Jam/Reggae, Electronic Dance Music, Electropop, Hidden Gem |

While Py is slowly starting to gain some popularity in her native UK, she is relatively unknown in the United States. This is a shame though, as her talents and potential are both very high.

Take “Lungs” for example. She gets a beautiful beat courtesy of George Fitzgerald and absolutely kills it with her sexy vocals. I’m excited to see more of her work in the future. “Lungs” can be found on Py’s recent mixtape, Tripping On Wisdom.

Watch the video to “Lungs” and her latest song “These Strings” below. (more…)

Rhyal Knight and Siler Thomas Head come together on this collaboration that almost guarantees a second listen at the very least. While the vocals are just as enticing, it’s really the use of the guitar that will sweep you off your feet. “Whisper” can be found off their upcoming EP, Good Vibes, which comes out soon.

Download: MiMoSA – SWRV *electro trap shit

October 17th, 2012 by | Electro |

So MiMoSA has released a new free song that has trap written all over it. At first I really hated trap music but after listening to it enough, I guess you just realize that it’s just DJs making fun of the horrible, dull lyrics and simple beats that mainstream hip-hop/rap radio stations are playing today. It seems all the music that becomes popular today has an electronic base which I enjoy but the lyrics have definitely become more dull for today’s technology-driven and socially-numb generation. Anyways I’m probably not hitting it exactly on the head so I will stick to providing you fun free music.

Get crunk, scream “YEA” more than Lil Jon and Stream and download “SWRV” below.

Video: The Trouble With Templeton – Bleeders *Folk Indie

Thomas Calder aka The Trouble With Templeton swept Filter Magazine’s Culture Collide away last weekend. Hailing from Australia, Thomas captivated the assorted onlookers, leaving a long-lasting impression in Los Angeles. This week, The Trouble With Templeton is traveling to New York for the esteemed CMJ Music Marathon. Before you race there to catch a glimpse of his fervent performance, watch the haunting video for “Bleeders,” off the band’s debut album Bleeders [I Wrote A Novel EP].

Foggy silhouettes of Thomas as he walks through a cemetery amongst elegant zombie ballet capture the essence of this strolling ballad as he sings, “I don’t feel your heart anymore / ‘Cause you are so far gone.”
