Read below for my review.
The show started with LA Alternative electronic pop/rock band Mind The Gap, a group I’ve admired for awhile and enjoyed seeing once again. While some of their songs were a bit slow for my taste that night, they slowly picked up the pace and got the crowd dancing/singing along to their songs as their set progressed. Watch out for this group in February 2013, when they release their upcoming EP. They played a couple songs from it which sounded a bit more upbeat, some more electronic elements than their previous work (even some dubstep) and overall a more danceable radio-friendly vibe. Stream my favorite from them, “Find My Way”.

Next came a group I’ve never heard before, Young Hunting. Their performance would have been awesome if I was trying to fall asleep or rolling around on the grass while on some psychedelic drugs. But if your not in that particular situation or not in the mood for dream pop, you may find it hard to enjoy as their songs are painfully slow-building and without some visuals to show while they are performing, it’s hard to enjoy. However I liked how they harmonized at times and their instrumentals were interesting. Stream and download their latest song, “Maze”.

Lastly came indie alternative pop group Jhameel. Last time I saw them perform, I felt the band was kind of stiff and it didn’t fully portray how awesome their music is. However seeing them last Monday, I saw major improvement with a more energetic lively set that got the crowd dancing, people singing along and everybody feeling good about themselves. One of my favorite songs live was “Bernal Heights”, stream/download below.
