About a week and a half ago, I got to enjoy the deep house/disco house/funky house sounds of Cooper Saver, Bit Funk and Amtrac at Polaroid Thursdays in Couture in Hollywood. Read my review below.
When we got there, LA native, Cooper Saver, was spinning a mix of disco house and funky tunes that were quite catchy. There weren’t a ton of people there yet and nobody had started dancing yet the tunes he was playing were groovy and produced light fun to get the night started. Since Cooper Saver doesn’t have a ton of original tracks and is most well-known for his seasonal mixes, here’s his latest hour plus long mix, perfect for the spring time.
Next came Miami’s Amtrac, whose infectious deep house really got the crowd moving! My favorites that he messed around with were Storm Queen‘s “It Goes On”, Midnight Magic‘s “Beam Me Up”, and his original track, “So High”. Here’s “So High” and three other original tracks off his latest EP.
Lastly came Brooklyn DJ, Bit Funk, whose set was more upbeat with electro pop elements and catered to a larger crowd of dancers and super attractive model-like blondes who intimidated most of the single guys at the club. Although there were many dudes at the club and many couples, the attractive Hollywood folk stood out and made for some good eye candy but not good conversation. Anyways Bit Funk was fantastic as he played a variety of house tunes, my favorite being Kreap‘s “Subliminal Static Automatic Floor Assembler”. My favorite original track he played was “She’s Got Two Hearts”.
