Southern California’s Pacific Festival: The Dunes 2012 is quickly approaching and I thought I would provide some details into one of the most underrated festivals in California. Not only is there a great variety of music from retro soul crooner Mayer Hawthorne to daytime disco duo Poolside to probably the best electro-dance pop/rock band ever, Capital Cities, this is a festival you don’t want to miss on Sunday September 2! This festival will be set against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean at The Dunes in Newport Beach with DJ sets from plenty of up-and-comers you need to see live including Bag Raiders, Goldroom andMiami Horror to name a few.

With our latest edition of Best You Never Heard, we put out songs that have fun feel-good summer vibes from artists we believe should be getting way more attention for their music. Our criteria for selecting these artists is they had to have under 5,000 facebook fans or under 10,000 twitter followers.

We continue to help young, upcoming musicians in their efforts to reach mainstream success. Many of the people featured on our previous mixes have gone on to accomplish a lot within the music industry.

With this mix I wanted to highlight some new songs of 2012 alongside classic sounds. I also tried to make the mix hit harder than some of my previous mixes, utilizing heavy anthems. As promised here is my latest DJ Mix “The Baby Maker” just in time for Valentine’s Day. It’s a tongue in cheek alternative R&B (think the dream, drake, andre 3k, the weeknd, frank ocean, etc.) slower type of mix made for… well BABY MAKING! haha. It’s a no brainer and was a really nice change of pace to mix up some slower jams that I actually listen to and vibe to on my own time when i’m not trying to make the next club banger.

We got a guest mix/post from Charlie Darker. Since featuring Charlie on Best You’ve Never Heard 5, Darker’s following has only increased. I have confirmed that Charlie Darker has a remix he did for Diplo and Don Diablo dropping very soon so you know top DJs are noticing Charlie Darker.

So I decided to create a rather unconventional music post today. Get ready to be INSPIRED.

I’ve recently helped some friends of mine launch a clothing line called the  ADAMO Collection. The whole idea behind this company is to provide a platform for rebelliously creative young people to pursue their passions, collaborate with each other, and express themselves freely. As a forward thinking company centered on passion and creativity, we look forward to working with bands, DJs, music blogs, etc!

Needless to say, launching a clothing line sure isn’t easy and 18 hour workdays are not unheard of. In order to stay sane and keep inspiration flowing, we blast music on our sick sound system 24/7. I thought it’d be neat to share some of these tunes with you guys and so I’ve compiled a playlist of some of our most listened to tracks on spotify. I’ve included everything from electronica/dubstep artists like Pendulum, Doctor P, Flux Pavilion, Emancipator, The Glitch Mob, Benny Benassi, and Steve Aoki, to more indie/alternative tracks from bands like The Naked and Famous, The Civil Wars, and M83. I also threw in some Tinie Tempah, Coldplay, and Claude Debussy. I think my favorite track has gotta be Pendulum’s The Island ( Dusk til Dawn remix). SOOO GOOD.
