We recently did a Hidden Gem on the upcoming R&B phenomenon formerly known as Kenton Dunson.

Dunson is becoming huge in the industry, doing a track with John Legend, and now with Lolah Brown, a singer and songwriter from Cleveland.

Lolah Brown has sung the backround vocals for many well known artists such as Nicki Minaj, Keri Hilson, and John Legend. Dunson is a lucky man, getting around with all these people. Expect more from Dunson in the upcoming months, for he plans on dropping his mixtape entitled The Investment, this summer. Enjoy.

Here’s a rocking new video from a group that we featured on Best You Never Heard 6. It’s genre-blending hip-hop band DownBeat Keys, one of the best up-and-coming hip-hop bands coming out to NYC!

This latest video, shot by Chris Meidell of MTV and Jason Chung, is a must-watch! There’s so much feeling and rocking sounds to the hip-hop/R&B track, “Deer In The Headlights” and I can tell the best way to truly appreciate this DBK’s potential is by seeing them live.

An artist I feel is about to become a huge mainstream act touring the country is Collin McLoughlin, a pop/R&B artist who mostly has covered/remixed other people’s music but about a month ago released a real interesting original song. Then earlier this week, he released a vocal edit to the Madeon song, “Icarus”. Listen and download both of these songs below.

Dunson (formerly known as Kenton Dunson) has a lot of talent, and we were shocked to get an email stating that he hopped on John Legend‘s remix to “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)”. We also rewinded back a bit and listen to Dunson‘s track “Count On It” which was also a killer. His flow and beats are something you can’y escape, and he has a HUGE future ahead of him. Dunson is currently working on his highly anticipated mixtape, The Investment, which is scheduled to drop this summer. John Legend will also make an appearance on The Investment.

Georgia Ellyse reminds me of a mixture of Nicki Minaj and Mary J. Blige, sound weird, but that’s what I think. Georgia’s new video for her track “Superhero” featuring Salimah is really good, but surprisingly has more dislikes then likes. Let’s change that by watching her video and tweeting this blog post!

Dangerflow is a 5-piece hip-hop band who I consider one of the best hip-hop bands in Miami! Granted if you asked me to name more than 3 hip-hop bands from Miami, I probably couldn’t answer that yet this group has not only caught the attention of the South Florida community but the Miami Heat has even used some of their music, specifically on Heat Live TV.

I saw Dangerflow live a couple weeks ago and instantly became a fan of the hip-hop fusion band which has influences in hip-hop, rhythm and soul to form a truly unique soothing style. If they improve their live shows with some female dancers or something to kind of distract from seven talented male musicians on stage, then they just might become mainstream acts.

Here’s Dangerflow‘s latest project, Win Lose or Die. My favorites on this album are “She Got It In For Me”, the single “Win Lose Or Die”, and “The Crown”.
