The Ranch is an epic live music benefit party, nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles. In the spirit of the music scenes that came together in LA’s canyons, The Ranch Party allows you to come camp out at the top of Mulholland Drive for a full day & night of LA bands, Artists, DJs, food and drinks. The one-day festival takes place Saturday, music starting at 2pm and goes through the whole night with many emerging acts we are big fans. I’m most looking forward to seeing The Internet (of OFWGKTA), Mansions On The Moon, the drummer from Miami Horror (Good Night Keaton), Tropicool and Zak Waters.
For more details on the event, RSVP on facebook and visit TheRanchParty.com. It’s the best value concert coming up in LA as you can enjoy over 20 musicians in an all-day and night event for as little as $40 ($50 if you decide you want to camp out).
Here’s a 10-track playlist of the songs I can’t wait to hear live at The Ranch.
The playlist above doesn’t even include the chill summer vibes I expect Tropicool to spin, the electro house from Bones, and the trap from Neo Fresco.

If there’s two music acts indie pop acts I’m intrigued by and want to see live, it’s St. Lucia and Pacific Air. With this remix, you get the best of both worlds, combining both their upbeat fun indie electro pop vibes to create a fun indie dance remix.
Stream and download St. Lucia‘s “All Eyes On You” (Pacific Air remix) below.
Last Wednesday, I experienced the funky sounds of Go Go Bizkitt! and The Phantom’s Revenge at The Central SAPC in Santa Monica, CA. Both DJs were awesome with Go Go Bizkitt spinning that funky disco house vibes all night while The Phantom’s Revenge played mostly disco house with some trap music and some electro vibes. One of my favorite parts of this dance party show was hearing both of the acts remix Daft Punk.
Stream some of my favorite songs from the two rising DJs below.
“The Answer” from up-and-coming indie electro pop act Avec Sans, is for fans of Icona Pop (who we love!), Purity Ring and Sleigh Bells. We fell in love with Avec Sans upon hearing their first original track, “Heartbreak Hi” (featured on Best You Never Heard 7), which reminded us of DWNTWN. Their second original track, “The Answer”, displays the band’s harder edge and sees darker electronic-dance sensibilities coming to the fore.
Stream and download “The Answer” and it’s remix from Bill & Will.
Viceroy might be my favorite up-and-coming producer/DJ right now and Ghost Beach one of my favorite up-and-coming acts of 2012; so this is a dream collaboration for me to find out about. Shouts to @Freedzybaby for letting me know about this song. “While We’re In Love” has this upbeat summertime feel that makes you want to dance in the street with sunny weather as the backdrop for a great beautiful day.
Stream “While We’re In Love” and the two remixes that have been released with it so far.
Here’s two remixes to “While We’re In Love”. Stream below and look out for the official music video on December 3. (more…)
I’ve been following Kids at The Bar since seeing them live in late 2011 in which they opened for disco house DJ Treasure Fingers at Avalon Hollywood. Since then, they released some massive remixes and in the last month released tow electro bangesr you need to hear!
The latest is an original they released with Whiiite that you can get on beatport. It’s called Tormet and has an electro-house vibe that builds real smoothly into a high energy EDM banger.
Then a few weeks back, Kids at the Bar released a remix to one of their all-time favorite tracks, Justice‘s “DVNO”. It’s a massive banger and been getting positive feedback everywhere they’ve played it.
One of my favorite up-and-coming producer, Xaphoon Jones (one half of Chiddy Bang) has released his latest solo full-length project, Xaphoon Jones Vol. 3 (DOWNLOAD). It’s 16-tracks remixed, produced and mashed up by Xaphoon and it’s a must-download for the hip-hop and beat heads.
Miami’s Van Toth and JWLS aka GTA grabbed Silver Medallion‘s “Stay Young” turned it from a Pop/EDM singalong to a Dark Big Room House destroyer that is sure to be rocking clubs across the nation. If you liked the original “Stay Young”, you will love this.
