Our soundcloud submissions this month consisted of mostly EDM, some really bad rap and some miscellaneous crap I’d rather not attempt to categorize. Below are the four best soundcloud submissions we got this month. (more…)
Real busy week so I didn’t have a ton of time to explore all our soundcloud submissions of April but from what I did hear, these were my four favorites: (more…)
Here’s 4 of the best song submissions from relatively unknown acts that more people need to know about including Heights NS, Johnny Astro, Twin Falcons and Tyson Willert. (more…)
So we got four banging electronic songs that we believe were our best soundcloud song submissions of February. If you think you got tracks better than this, please share to our soundcloud dropbox. Check out all our best soundcloud submissions here.
First we got a three song set from Sound Avatar, whose cutting edge music production, creativity and innovation is ready to be showcased in his first full length EP. This EP ranges from Dubstep to Moombahcore, mixing dj experience, diverse drum patterns and heavy bass drops into one monstrous package.
Next comes Mac Sharks whose progressive house sound keeps us paying attention to his improvements as a DJ. This time he does a banging remix to Beyonce‘s “End of Time” so at least there’s excellent vocals to go along with the house style of Sharks.
Here’s another remix, this time from Kat Krazy to a Foster the People song. No it’s not a remix to “Pumped Up Kicks” but it’s to FTP’s next single “Don’t Stop”. This has Columbia and Sony Records behind it so you know Kat Krazy‘s has the support to become a huge DJ act. Keep an eye on this artist as they really change up the original FTP song adding some nice complexions in the electronic synths.
Lastly we got Jef-n-Tim with a track called “Woopie”. This has an electro-house sound, nice progressions to it and overall tells me the Jef-n-Tim duo have some potential.
Here’s our best soundcloud submissions from January. Make sure to share tracks with us to our soundcloud!
The first track is from Damien J. Carter and Claudio Lari, two up-and-coming DJs from Europe. They just released a free banging track called “Pyro” that is a must-listen if you like electro-house music.
If Rebecca Black was couple of males instead of a young girl and liked to do some rapping with her subpar vocals, this is what she would sound like. Check out Gabe and Benny‘s “Party”, it’s got a fun pop vibe with brief moments of rap and dubstep and the singers saying the word “Party” a lot. Download the song on their website.
Next is Matt Balfe with “Give Myself to You”. I think the track needs some vocals and maybe a remix/refix from Balfe or some other DJ. The Australian DJ who does mostly house, electro and dance club type music is an up-and-comer to be on the lookout for!
Lastly we end with some chill sampled hip-hop from Cypher Clique. They sample Pete Rock, and have some dope rhymes over the old school hip-hop jam. I look forward to more original material from Cypher Clique but for now I can dig this old school vibe.
A little late on this but I couldn’t forget to provide a shout out to our best soundcloud submissions of December 2011. Once again, I’m digging that we are getting submissions from all sorts of musicians and encourage all musicians out there to send us your music.
VVS1 is an all original dubstep-hip/hop collaborative consisting of emcees Soupa and Dean Swift, singer Renzo, and producer/DJ Mike Irish. The group immediately sets an impressive tone with their first official release, “Pearl Harbor”, as they aim to pioneer a sound for the imminent fusion of the two genres of dubstep and hip-hop. The balance of crisp orchestration, fast-paced lyrical delivery and filthy drops provide a first look into the upcoming sounds of this genre-fusing group as they get ready for the release of their first EP in early February. Skys the limit with this group in terms of potential. Pearl Harbor by VVS1
BAKER is an upcoming, unsigned pop/electronica musician in NYC. Already creating a heavy buzz with his high energy live shows, BAKER is coming up quick in the NYC pop scene. With collaborations with music industry heavy weights such as Kylie Minogue and J.Lo producers Cutfather and Damon Shape, BAKER is sure to garner attention from a large audience. Here’s my favorite BAKER track, “Convince Me” (DOWNLOAD). BAKER – CONVINCE ME
Brother K is an NYC-based garage/punk/blues outfit. Their songs draw on their experiences over the past five years: friends departing to the hereafter, others arriving out of the blue, out-of-control interior monologues. They also write songs about tiger moms – hence, the title track of their new EP, Claws and Stripes Forever. Claws and Stripes Forever by Brother K

It’s that time of the month again for the best soundcloud submissions from the month of November. We got a new Soundcloud so feel free to send us new music there or just email us at beforethebigs@gmail.com if you got some new tunes you think we will dig.
The most recent submission we got was from a guy named U Nu (pronounced: oo – noo). U Nu combines electronic and organic sounds out there, drawing elements from the indie rock and electronic world, while not shying away from hip hop beats, latin rhythms, instrumental freakouts, beatboxing, and sampling a guy scratching his beard (among other things). As of two weeks ago, U Nu released his first album “Summer of Rain”. The album is entirely composed, performed, recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered by him; he even did all of the artwork! So? Enticed? I recommend going to his bandcamp if you want the full album experience. Stream “Mind The Gap” below. Mind the Gap by U_Nu
Next we got a killer remix from the Tune In Crew. They remixed the Kelly Rowland/Big Sean song, “Lay It On Me”, giving it an electro banger feel. Here’s what they said about their remix:
This time we’ve chosen to make it progressive, melting electro, pop and urban trends, for a track most of all designed to set the Dancefloor on fire!
We are proud to introduce you to Boston electronic house DJ Mike Irish. His latest banger, “Technicolor”, is a must-listen and Mike Irish is a DJ you need to keep an eye on as he has loads of potential just from what you hear off “Technicolor”. Technicolor by MikeIrishMusic
We are also proud to introduce you to Seattle MC BenniB. He sent us three songs off his latest mixtape, Journal of a Journey. Out of the three songs, I enjoyed “I Won’t Crash” the most. Being from Seattle, he reminds me of Macklemore and some other white alternative hip-hop acts out there today. I think he’s got potential as he further defines his sound and hopefully makes it sound more different than the other rising Seattle MCs out there. BenniB – I Won’t Crash by bennibmusic
I saved the best for last withSilver Medallion‘s new single, “Stars”. This actually came out in October and was Silver Medallion‘s second release on DJ Benzi‘s Get Right Records. This uptempo house track proves Silver Medallion has a bright future in the music industry. Once again we got a fairly solid mix of tracks submitted to us and below are our five favorites ranging from some hip-hop to some rock. Here’s our best soundcloud submissions for the month of October.
Here’s HOVAT‘s latest hip-hop jam with a chill flow and smooth beat. Farmers Fair by HOVAT
Next comes a rock song from Face The King. This song has a great pick-me-up feel that just gets better as the song progresses. Reminds me of Muse and 30 Seconds to Mars. This is a band to watch out for! The Burning & The Falling Down by facetheking
We don’t post a ton of Lo-Fi as it can get kind of boring and make you sleepy but this is some sweet fun lo-fi that is fairly easy to get into. Inspired And The Sleep are an interesting band and I look forward to more. This song is considered bliss beat lo-fi, loving the flute usage as well! DOWNLOAD While We’re Young by Inspired and the Sleep
Lastly an unusual hip-hop song form an unusual hip-hop artist. Mastermind has a weird flow, brings this weird circus beat but you know what, it kind of works and is so interesting I dig it and look forward to more from the up-and-coming MC.
Once again the five best songs we received through soundcloud are a wide variety but sure to please the ears. Here’s Soundcloud’s Best for September. If you got music we need to hear, submit it to our Soundcloud.
First I wanted to highlight DJ Burnout‘s best mashup he released in September with “One More Hump” which uses Daft Punk‘s “One More Time” on instrumentals mixed with several bumping pop songs that bring the hump. Yikes that sounded kind of gross… get the bumping music on to bring the hump… “One More Hump”! One More Hump (Daft Punk / Missy Elliot / Lady Gaga / Black Eyed Peas) by DJ Burnout
Now for a group that if you are not familiar with them yet, you should be as they have a superfuture sound that is slowly catching on. Here’s Smokey Robotic‘s latest, “No Reality”, which features Redman! Haven’t heard from Redman in a while so that’s a great addition to quite an interesting song. No Reality (feat. Redman) by Smokey Robotic
Lastly comes another artist who has a fairly prominent feature on the blog, Aziz. The instrumental produced by No Studio is what caught my ear and the rapping from Aziz goes so well with this banging hip-hop anthem. My only question is, who the fuck is Clay Davis? Well I googled it and found out Clay Davis is a character from HBO’s The Wire and he was known for saying ”sheeeeee-it,” which the song ends with. I enjoy the song a bit more now knowing that. Aziz – Clay Davis

Welcome to the August 2011 edition of Soundcloud’s Best, a monthly feature spotlighting the top 5 song submissions we received on our soundcloud.
First is a track that came out only an hour ago from Quincy Kwalae, Billy Van and Zach Majors. This track is remix/mashup collab with producer’s Billy Van and Quincy Kwalae and vocalist Zach Majors. They took the lyrics from Chris Brown’s “She Aint You” and Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature” and put them over an original electro-pop-dub beat. Watch the video shows in studio action. She Aint Human (Quincy Kwalae, Billy Van, & Zach Majors) Zoo Legacy is an up and coming indie rock and chill-hop band based out of Ottawa, Canada. Their fans have described Zoo Legacy’s sound as sort of like Kid Kudi meets N.E.R.D meets The xx. Zoo Legacy - How Much Love
Next comes mashup artist DJ Invisiboy with “Drop with the DJ” a mashup tribute to these artists: The Knocks, one of my favorite 90′s 1-hit wonder, Tag Team, and Jesse Marco. Invisiboy continues to impress with his upbeat fun party mashups. Drop with the DJ (The Knocks, Tag Team, Jesse Marco) by DJ Invisiboy Stigmah is a rapper/producer from Atlanta. The song is called “King Of Arcades” and it samples a punk rock song by Lupe Fiasco‘s neo-punk side project, Japanese Cartoon. This probably won’t be the last you hear from Stigmah on BtB as he uses interesting non-hip hop samples in his material from what I have heard so far. Stigmah – King of Arcades
Saving the best for last comes DJ i6, who created a banging party mashup with “Tonight”. This is the first single for DJ i6 off his upcoming mashup album, “Structure and Flow”, his third mashup project, which will be released September 6. One of the best party mashups I have heard in recent memory. Tonight by DJ i6
