Video: Aziz – City Livin’ ft. Mike Irving *chill-hop summer vibes

July 30th, 2012 by | Chill/Jam/Reggae, Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Here is Aziz‘s latest project with singer and producer Mike Irving titled “City Livin.” It’s a very chill-hop summer song and the video pretty much conveys the chill vibes of the song.

The song will be featured individually on both Mike and Aziz’s upcoming projects; Mike Irving dropping his first EP “Until My Heart Stops” on August 6th and Aziz‘s next mixtape coming later in September.

Watch “City Livin” below.

Aziz- The 2000’s (Worst Comes To Worst x Get Em High x Lovin It)

May 9th, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Aziz is a first generation American hailing from New Hampshire. He later moved out to Boston to study and play ball at Brandeis University. Aziz later moved out to Connecticut to attend Pomfret school where he started recording and producing his own music.

Aziz may not be a house hold name yet, but since 2010 he has opened for big names like Snoop Dogg, Chris Webby, Mac Miller, Big K.R.I.T, The Far East Movement and many others. Give this kid a listen and I guarantee you will have an instant eargasm.

Sampled Saturday *Jay Fresh, Jacob Es, Aziz, Alex Frecon, Theo Martins

November 19th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Sampled Saturday |

A couple new artists to BtB and a few that have been featured on the site multiple times and will get featured many more times with where it seems there music is heading.

First we got a newbie on the site, Jay Fresh, who collaborated with the Pretty Lights record label, specifically producer/DJ SuperVision, to create “Amazing”, which samples Pretty Lights. Its got a chill hip-hop vibe and shows the potential of skater turned rapper Jay Fresh, who has much more planned with Pretty Lights work. “Amazing” will be off Jay Fresh‘s upcoming, The Delta Project, which is Jay Fresh vs Pretty Lights. Watch the music video here.

Next comes Jacob Es with “In The City” off his upcoming project Piece of Mind, dropping real soon. If you are not familiar, this song samples the 1960s hit “Summer In The City” from Lovin’ Spoonful. Loving the sample, really digging his rap and overall looking forward to this upcoming project Jacob Es has been touting lately.

Next comes Brandies University student-athlete Aziz with “Wind Blows” which samples the indie/alternative chill song from Yukon Blonde. D-Why first sampled this song back in mid-September and Aziz took a crack at it, releasing the song on September 19. Personally, I think the Aziz one has slightly improved production and better rapping. However you be the judge and comment below on your favorite use of the sample.

Next comes Alex Frecon who released his debut EP in late August, which included the Passion Pit sampled “I’ll Stay”. I can’t ignore a Passion Pit sample because they are amazing and although Alex Frecon can’t be described as amazing, I’m digging the production and the rapping is solid.

Lastly one of my favorite artists in this post, Theo Martins, who recently moved to LA to better focus on his budding music career. This dude is very talented, not only with the amazing sampled production he has shown in the past but his rapping is dope too! In this, he samples Foster the People (not Pumped Up Kicks!). The production is so catchy utilizing FTP and his rapping gives the original another direction not entirely touched on yet.

Soundcloud’s Best: September *DJ Burnout, Filip Filipi, Smokey Robotic, Ocelot, Aziz

September 30th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Dance, Dubstep, Hip-Hop/Rap, Mashup, Soundcloud's Best |

Once again the five best songs we received through soundcloud are a wide variety but sure to please the ears. Here’s Soundcloud’s Best for September.

First I wanted to highlight DJ Burnout‘s best mashup he released in September with “One More Hump” which uses Daft Punk‘s “One More Time” on instrumentals mixed with several bumping pop songs that bring the hump. Yikes that sounded kind of gross… get the bumping music on to bring the hump… “One More Hump”!

Next we go with newcomer Filip Filipi with “Big City Chaser” featuring Mansions On The Moon and Work Drugs. It’s got this electronic chill-hop sound, which is real interesting and caught my ear.

Now for a group that if you are not familiar with them yet, you should be as they have a superfuture sound that is slowly catching on. Here’s Smokey Robotic‘s latest, “No Reality”, which features Redman! Haven’t heard from Redman in a while so that’s a great addition to quite an interesting song.

Now for a remix whose original should be on the radio, “I Stand Alone” by Theophilus London. The chill-wave/dubstep remix from Ocelot has been officially approved by Theophilus and is a remix that grows on you even though it isn’t as catchy as the original.

Lastly comes another artist who has a fairly prominent feature on the blog, Aziz. The instrumental produced by No Studio is what caught my ear and the rapping from Aziz goes so well with this banging hip-hop anthem. My only question is, who the fuck is Clay Davis? Well I googled it and found out Clay Davis is a character from HBO’s The Wire and he was known for saying “sheeeeee-it,” which the song ends with. I enjoy the song a bit more now knowing that.

Aziz – “Ode to Pete Rock” (Music Video)

August 2nd, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Earlier today, we got sent New England rapper Aziz‘ newest music video “Ode to Pete Rock” and it’s a good one. It has a classic hip-hop feel to it with a simple yet solid beat and awesome rapping by Aziz. This kid continues to make a name for himself and he is only getting better. This track is off his upcoming mixtape, Daydreams of a Spaceshot, which is set to release on August 23rd. Keep a look out for more music by him leading up to release of the mixtape later this month. Enjoy!

Aziz returns with a hot new track! This time he delivers “Right Now” for us and with great visuals to back it up. This is off his upcoming project and I look forward to it’s release. I’ll be honest, I never was really sold on Aziz; then he made this new track and it appears that has really stepped up his game with this one. I expect him to go hard on all new songs he releases in the near future.

Here’s what his management had to say:

This next mixtape, “Daydreams of a Spaceshot,” which is set to release in July of 2011, shows Aziz’s maturity and growth and thus he has been patient in putting the mixtape together; strategically aligning himself with some great artists and producers as well.

Aziz brings us his long awaited mixtape, Leave Me Az Iz. He’s jumped onto the scene in a big way with great lyrics and  talented flow. He doesn’t dissapoint with a variety of tracks, and you will definitely enjoy this project. My favorites are ‘Power in Attention’, ‘Praying for Rain’, ‘Wild Flow’ and ‘Deaded’.

On this song, the Super Bowl, he comes up with clever rhymes having to do with NFL teams.

Aziz – “School Day” x “The Superbowl”

September 15th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, R&B |

Aziz released two songs recently that are pretty good, not great. He released “The Superbowl” before last Thursday’s first NFL regular season game, which mentions all 32 NFL teams in the song. He also released “School Day” which is about his experiences in high school, all true stories according to Aziz.
