James Egbert – Isle of Capri

July 14th, 2011 by | Dance, House, Techno |

Shouts to ThisSongIsSick for promoting James Egbert, a sick producer out of Denver. He deserves all the accolades he’s been getting throughout the blogosphere. His latest single “Isle of Capri” is a full-on electronic dance party and this dude has serious skills. He drops eargasmic sounds as he builds the track up to a huge crescendo…and BOOM. The drop is massive. ThisSongIsSick compares Mr. Egbert to Porter Robinson, which I think is a great comparison. There’s some house, whomps, and funky synth beats. He combines all of the subgenres of techno into a great, original style, and absolutely kills the track. There’s also a tropical vibe to the whole song, which is what I imagine I beach party in Ibiza sounds like.

Follow Mr. Egbert on Twitter, and if you’re in Colorado, get to Global Dance Fest this weekend a little early and watch this dude open up the main stage on Friday.

Bassnectar – Upside Down *hip-hop/electronic dubstep banger!

June 29th, 2011 by | Dance, Dubstep |

If you at least tolerate dubstep, Bassnectar is one of those DJ’s that you will like if you listen to electronic music. Today he dropped “Upside Down”, which has this hip-hop/electronic beat with some dope dubstep. This is a must-download party banger!

Foreign Beggars & Skrillex – “Still Getting It”

June 7th, 2011 by | Dubstep, Hip-Hop/Rap |

In my opinion, dubstep is starting to become very overdone and overplayed. However, one guy who still stands above all the rest is Skrillex, especially when he uses his beats in a hip-hop track. He hooks up with Foreign Beggars to create “Still Getting It”, an awesome hip-hop/dubstep banger which will definitely get your heart pounding. Enjoy!

Skrillex – Disco Rangers

May 21st, 2011 by | Dance, Dubstep |

Dubstep is so in these days, therefore Skrillex and his intense brand of mega-whomps is on top of the world. I wanted to see him play in Colorado in March but his show sold out months in advance. Sadly, Skrillex recently lost a hard drive apparently full of material, but on the bright side, he recently dropped “Disco Rangers,” a new, awesome banger. It starts of upbeat and melodic but then builds up and drops into the mega-whomps. It’s definitely a jam and will surely get you pumped up for the most intense of nights.

Hidden Gem: Whole-Z *absolute banger remixes

January 30th, 2011 by | Dubstep, Electro, Hidden Gem, Remix |

Whole-Z hails from Burlington, Vermont and makes absolutely dope BANGER remixes. Spotted his “Phantom of the Opera” remix on TSIS a couple days ago and that became a MUST POST song and is a MUST DOWNLOAD.

Love that Whole-Z decided to sample a showtunes and a dark show-tune with Phantom of the Opera, throwing in dubstep as well. Plus Whole-Z put in Lil’ Jon saying what he’s famous for to make for a dope remix.
