Coming Soon: Before the Bigs Radio

September 2nd, 2010 by | Before the Bigs Radio |

Before the Bigs Radio is on it’s way and will be available to you very soon! I’m beginning to work with Kamp Student Radio (University of Arizona) to bring each radio show episode onto the website in a podcast format. I won’t stop blogging but this just adds another element to Before the Bigs Entertainment.

Before the Bigs Radio will play new, up-and-coming music and talk about them and other music news in general. We also plan on doing interviews with local music talent.

We will keep you posted on the status of the show! In the mean time check out the Kamp website to learn more about them!

Maximum Balloon ft. Theophilus London

August 9th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Miscellaneous, Music Video |

We’ve mentioned Theophilus London in a previous post. There we mentioned his unique style that is ahead of it’s time. He does a great job of mixing 80’s style music, with electronic beats making an interesting sound to his music.

He takes some time to get used to as his music sounds a bit odd at first, but we promise that if you continue to listen to him, then he will grow on you.
He was recently featured in a Maximum Balloon song called “Groove Me” which we feel has a sound unlike most you hear today. These two will continue to grow as artists and eventually become mainstream when their music catches up with it’s time.
Listen to “Groove Me” and download it if you want. We also included the music video of “Humdrum Town” to get more of a feel of Theophilus London’s musical style.

More Seattle Up-and-comers

August 8th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Miscellaneous, Music Video |

We have talked in the past about rising artists and bands based out of Seattle. There is another one yet to be discovered. Founded in 2006, “Dyme Def” consists of rappers Fearce Villian, S.E.V., and Brainstorm. The primary beat producer for the group is Bean One with MC Brainstorm making the occasional beat as well.

They still need to develop their style a little bit more if they want to make it big in the music business. However, this group is on their way up.

Check out the official music video of their single “Do Something” off their mixtape “Sex Tape” and download it if you please. Let us know if any of the girls in this video are porn stars because they sure look familiar haha. Also check out their single “Let it Be” off their mixtape “Space Music” and let us know what ya’ll think.

Hidden Gem: Rocky Business

August 8th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap, Miscellaneous, Music Video |

I had heard and downloaded Rocky Business’ first mixtape in June but since we didn’t start the blog until July I decided to hold off on posting about them until they put out new music. I have been talking with the band within the last week and we will provide you with more news about them soon.

Rocky Business consists of MC Strictly Business and musician/vocalist/producer Jonny on the Rocks. Jonny is a Toronto native, while MC SB comes from Brooklyn. Look out for more news about this up-and-coming hip-hop/rock/indie band but for now you can find their first music video and a download link for their mixtape, entitled simply Rocky Business.

(By the way, love the song above!)

The Dean’s List are making a music video

August 8th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

I really wish I saw this earlier in the week around when The Dean’s List posted this, but at least it gave me some insight to when MC Sonny Shotz mixtape, December 31st comes out (in August, not December 31st). Sonny Shotz is the MC of The Dean’s List, who is releasing a solo mixtape coming out in August. Sonny Shotz has already released one song from it, “Charlie Brown” featuring the Invigilators.

I’m a huge fan of the The Dean’s List and Sonny Shotz solo work and really believe this group will blow up in 2011. If your in Boston on August 23rd, you need to go to Harper’s Ferry to see The Dean’s List perform with Chiddy Bang, Blak Madeen, XV and Donnis.

However the video above is a promo for the filming of the official music video for “I’ll Be Okay” which I have included below along with “Repeat”, which is the first song from The Dean’s List next mixtape. I’ll Be Okay (Clean) by The Deans List The Dean’s List – Repeat by Nosebleed Section
