The song and chorus begins “Lemme See Your Titties”. Wouldn’t be surprised if this dumb song gets radio play, what do you think?

Wale update *5 new songs!

July 24th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Wale has been making lots of new music in the past couple months. Love how most of Wale‘s latest songs have been upbeat and/or the rapping is off the hook! Even though Wale is working under my least favorite rapper in Rick Ross, I still think Wale can still have that quality sound he showed in his mixtapes and his debut album.

Here’s five songs that we haven’t blogged about yet that you hopefully haven’t heard yet. Wale‘s upcoming album, Ambition, drops November 1st through Warner Bros. Records.

Wale – Globetrotter ft. 2 Chainz

Wale – Bad Girls Club ft. J. Cole

Trae Tha Truth – I’m On ft. Lupe Fiasco, Big Boi, Wale, Wiz Khalifa & MDMA (5-star!)

Wale – Bait ft. TCB

Wale – Lacefrontin (one of my favorite new Wale songs)

Big Boi – Follow Us ft. Vonnegutt (Vonnegutt remix)

September 15th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Remix |

Vonnegutt decided to remix the hit single they were featured on by Big Boi. They used their instrumentals as the beat instead of the one on the track and Vonnegutt’s MC Kyle Lucas rapped over the majority of verses. If you didn’t know Vonnegutt is under Big Boi’s record label Purple Ribbon.

It’s a really good remix by an up-and-coming band that should blow up once their debut album comes out.

Listen and download the “Follow Us” by Vonnegutt and as a bonus enjoy “Make Up Sex” by Woody featuring Kyle Lucas of Vonnegutt. Big Boi featuring Vonnegutt – Follow Us (Remix) by Hypetrak Woody Featuring JY Kyle Lucas – Make Up Sex by Fresh4udaily

Matt & Kim – “Cameras”

September 2nd, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Electropop, Pop, Rock |

I didn’t start getting interested in Matt & Kim until I heard “Daylight” as I hadn’t heard too much about them before that. After hearing “Daylight” and the recent song “Cameras”, I’m now a huge fan.

Matt & Kim are a dance-punk/electropop group  that formed in 2004. Currently they are in the studio mixing the follow up to Grand, their second album released in 2009 through Fader Label. They are releasing their third album, Sidewalks, on November 2.

Below download “Cameras”, the first single off their upcoming album, “Camera & Shutterbugs”, a mashup with one of Big Boi’s latest songs. Also listen and download “Daylight”.  Matt & Kim – Cameras by Brian Gaffey  Matt & Kim – Daylight by user3801503  Cameras & Shutterbugs (Big Boi vs. Matt & Kim) by dwhitehead

Your girlfriend’s favorite new band…

July 11th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Miscellaneous, R&B |

In the about me section on Vonnegutt’s myspace page, the first sentence says, “Your girlfriend’s favorite new band.” From the above picture, words may be a bit decieving but Vonnegutt is a band to watch out for. Blasting rock rhythm’s with hip-hop vocals, this pop-rock group with a hip-hop flavor is definately going to be on the radio once their album, Falling Up The Stairs get’s released this summer.

The band formed in 2007 when underground hip-hop MC Kyle Lucas wanted to expland his musical tastes and put out a flyer looking to start an alternative hip-hop badn. Guitarist Neil Garrard, who at the time was doing session work for the south’s biggest Rap/R&B; artists including Kelly Rowland and Pastor Troy, responded to the flyer. Within months they put out their first record, The Vice Nine EP, which gained much buzz in the internet and on college radio and in November ’08, they signed with Big Boi and his Purple Ribbon Records.
With over 2 years of writing and recording, Vonnegutt finished their album, Falling Up The Stairs, which will be released later this summer. Check out their myspace page for more info on the band and below are a few of my favorite songs by Kyle Lucas and Vonnegutt.  Vonnegutt – Bright Eyes by BeforeTheBigs  Kyle Lucas & Captain Midnite – Girl With Fangs by BeforeTheBigs
Here’s a video posted by Vonnegutt that gives you a better idea of their music:

Big Boi is back!

July 7th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Miscellaneous, R&B |

Big Boi finally released his solo debut album on July 6th, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. If you don’t know Big Boi was in OutKast, considered one of the greatest hip-hop groups from the South earning six Grammy Awards and selling over 25 million copies of OutKast’s eight album releases.
I said finally earlier because originally Sir Lucious Left Foot was set to release in 2008 but it got postponed because Big Boi left Jive Records over creative differences and the label’s unwillingness to release and promote the album. But in March 2010, Big Boi signed a solo album deal with Def Jam Recordings and finally after three years of recording songs for the album starting in 2007, the album was released.
Check out “Follow Us” featuring Vonnegutt and “Shutterbug” which was used in the 1st episode of the 7th season of the TV series Entourage. These songs are completely different from each other in terms of melody, genre, and tempo. Let us know which one you enjoy more!
The best thing about Big Boi’s album Sir Lucious Left Foot is that none of the songs sound the same, each one having a unique feel to it. It’s the reason why I decided to blog about him today rather than an up-and-comer. Download the full album on iTunes.
Tommorw check out our post about Vonnegutt, the band featured in the first music video above who is surely going to get bigger by being featured on this album and the future release of their debut album, Falling Up The Stairs, in stores later this year.
