Chevy Woods collaborates with Wiz Khalifa once again to create an awesome new laid back hip-hop track called “Crazy”. Both rappers do a great job with their flow and lyricism and Big Jerm is on the boards so you know it’s going to be an awesome beat. This is a great track to just sick back and chill to. Enjoy!
Thanks to Oh So Fresh! Music and Mostly Junkfood for introducing me to The Come Up, a side-project/collaboration from Franchise and Vinny Radio of The 58s. The mixtape, In Good Hands, is 12 tracks of super smooth Pittsburgh hip-hop, entirely produced by Big Jerm of ID Labs. Everyone’s been saying it, but Pittsburgh is becoming the next big hip-hop hot spot, and these guys are a big part of it. Some of my favorite tracks from the mixtape are:
The Come Up – In Good Hands (feat. Heather Victoria)
The other day, Huey Mack released his latest mixtape, Freshman 15. This is my first real listen to Huey, and I have to say, I was really impressed. His sound is real polished, his flows are tight, and the beats are awesome. Producers for the tape include Big Jerm, Brenton Duvall, and the Xtraordinary Gentleman, meaning that there is top notch production throughout the tape.
I’m not going to say Huey isn’t cliche “frat rap” or whatever you want to call it, but Freshman 15 is super chill for the most part, but also includes some more upbeat party jams. My favorites from the tape are:
I checked out DEVIN MILES on Good Music All Day, and I was actually very impressed. I know people are going to think he’s just like Mac Miller, but why? Because he smokes weed? Sure, but this dude brings an original flow and with Big Jerm on the track, you know it’s going to be good. Check out “Spaced Out,” follow him on twitter, and keep an eye on this kid. He’s legit.
Earlier today, Cam Meekins dropped another single called “Prettier Things” which is off is upcoming mixtape,1993, which drops on March 1st. Big Jerm is on the boards in this track with a relaxed tune and solid rapping by Cam. This isn’t my favorite of what I have heard off1993 so far. However, I still look forward to next week when the entire mixtape releases. Enjoy!
