Theo Martins – The Spotlight x 2 older faves x new music video

the spotlight cover Theo Martins The Spotlight x 2 older faves x new music videoWhen Theo Martins released “The Spotlight” recently, I knew had to jump on listening to this. Once again Theo Martins thrives sampling a variety of non-hip-hop tracks and bringing this indie hip-hop/pop to the song he samples.

Lately I have noticed a more electro/hip-hop feel with his music which I like a lot since he is working towards what the music industry’s mainstream sound is evolving into; more upbeat dance club instrumentals.

In “The Spotlight” he goes in a more electro synth instrumentals with the Class Actress sample. Love the instrumentals, rapping over it is cooler than Theophilus London which he reminds me of in this song but this is a bit more alternative with more mainstream rapping.

Below listen and download two older favorites of mine from Theo Martins, one which is a remix to a remix that includes the likes of Passion Pit and Bruno Mars and the other more of an indie popish song with some hip-hop that samples Wakey!Wakey! Also new music below! (more…)
