Cleveland emcee J-Maxamil definitely has a lot of talent for only being 16 years old. J-Maxamil packs an upbeat flow that makes for perfect summer time cruising or party jam track; overall “All A Dream” is a great upbeat tune.

Just to add icing to the cake this track features Krayzie Bone & Britni Elise. His highly anticipated mixtape entitled “Alarm Clock” is scheduled to drop on the 24th of May. Introducing Proof I Exist *Solo Indie Pop/Rock from Cleveland

March 8th, 2012 by | Album/Mixtape/EP Review, Alternative/Indie, Pop, Rock |

This almost got lost in our inbox, glad I found it! Here’s a solo artist from Cleveland known as, Proof I Exist. He recently released his debut LP, Suburban Sci-Fi, which is being played on local college radio according to the artist. It is a one-man DIY effort with a full-band sound encompassing many genres, including: indie pop/rock, garage, psychedelic, and alternative.

There’s a few songs I really like, “Modern Day Love Song”, “Trespassing in Heaven” and “Euphoria at 4 AM”. However there’s also a couple tracks worth skipping like “Waiting for Paradise” whose title would be more fitting being called “Waiting for this song to end”. Overall each song brings a different vibe and style yet having distinct vocals. What stands out the most to me is the guitar instrumentals, which is real catchy throughout the project.

Listen and download Proof I Exist‘s Suburban Sci-Fi below.

The Christmas hangover is still upon us. Whether you are back at work or not, people are still caught in the holiday spirit. However, one rapper got me out of it for a moment with his awesome sound.

D.Worthy originally from Cleveland but relocated to Vancouver, Washington is a rapper with awesome flow over great beats. His music is catchy and though he is still very new to the game, expect him to make a splash! Below are his best tracks. Enjoy!

“Upscale” (Prod. RicandThadeus)

“Relax and Relate” (Prod. IllMuzik)

“Blue Sky” (Prod. No I.D.)

Machine Gun Kelly – Rage Pack (mixtape)

November 1st, 2011 by | Album/Mixtape/EP Review, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Here’s Machine Gun Kelly‘s latest mixtape, Rage Pack. My two favorite tracks we haven’t posted yet include “LTFU” as that samples Daft Punk‘s “One More Time” and MGK kills it. Also I’m loving “Warning Shot”, that should be a single on a ghetto radio station.

Anyways, here’s listen and download Rage Pack below.

iPhonic – The Afterparty (video+mp3) *must-download pop

September 21st, 2011 by | Music Video, Pop |

What a catchy friendly hook, “You’re all invited to the after party”. Loved this track from beginning to end and I don’t normally love pop tracks.

Listen and download iPhonics latest song, “The Afterparty”, which is off their upcoming mixtape, “Rock N Roll Vol 1” hosted by DJ E-V, out this November.

Hidden Gem: iPhonic *chill-hop/reggae/jam band

June 29th, 2011 by | Chill/Jam/Reggae, Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Hard to categorize Cleveland music group iPhonic. In the two songs I really like from them, I continue to hear elements of reggae, a little chill-hop and overall this fun summer jam band feel. Here’s my two favorites from iPhonic and the last song is their most recent hit, “Love Of the Game” more of electro-pop song with dope features from rapper Machine Gun Kelly and pop artist Aaron LaFette.

Download “Make Her Say”

Download “All Summer”

Download “Love of the Game”
If you like both those songs, follow iPhonic on facebook and twitter. Shouts to GMAD on the find.

Machine Gun Kelly – I Know (ft. Ray Jr.) (Video)

June 24th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Machine Gun Kelly just dropped the visuals to “I Know” off his Lace Up mixtape. The track is fire, and whoever says MGK can’t rap is ridiculous. Kells has one of the hottest flows in the game these days, and he absolutely rips this song up.

Follow MGK on Facebook and Twitter. He is great to his fans, very entertaining with his posts and updates, and is also blowing up super fast. This is going to be a big year for the dude.

Machine Gun Kelly – “Get Laced” (Video)

April 4th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

A few days ago, Machine Gun Kelly dropped “Get Laced (Cleveland Wins),” celebrating the Cavs win over the Heat the other night. MGK’s flow is rapid fire and tight as usual, and his lyrics are hilarious and ridiculous. Typical MGK.

My favorite line is “F*ck LeBron, the kid never left y’all.” If you’re not aware of MGK yet, keep an eye out, because he’s turning into a major force. He killed SXSW, got a shout-out from Diddy, and is changing the way people think about typical white rappers.

The much anticipated mixtape Gift Raps has finally dropped! Chip Tha Ripper has been working on this for months and began promoting it a few months back when he dropped The Prelude to Gift Raps which is a preview of what is now available. I really enjoy this mixtape and feel that Chip Tha Ripper is under appreciated in the hip-hop world. Hopefully this mixtape will help better show his true talent. My two favorite tracks off this mixtape are “Hang Out” and “UnderDogs”

Chip Tha Ripper – “Roll That Weed Bitch”

February 1st, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Clevelands newest hip-hop up-and-comer Chip Tha Ripper recently dropped a new stoner track “Roll That Weed Bitch” which is sure to make you feel higher than you may already be. All this song is about is bitches and weed, which makes a great combination but is a little bit silly of a track. I think it’s funny and I am sure you will find it hilarious as well.
