Clinton Sparks ft. Disco Fries & Pitbull – Watch You *future RADIO hit!

August 18th, 2012 by | Electropop, Pop |

Grammy nominated singer/DJ/producer Clinton Sparks has found himself back to work once more with a familiar voice. While Sparks provides the majority of lyrical content on “Watch You”, the multifaceted musician and taste-maker recruits Mr. 305 for a signature guest verse that’s vintage Pitbull. Produced by Sparks and New York City electro/house duo Disco Fries, the single is a dizzying mix of up-tempo production that will likely find itself on Top-40 radio and in your head in the near future.

Lit – My Own Worst Enemy (Clinton Sparks Remix)

April 29th, 2012 by | Electro, Electronic Rock, Music Video, Remix |

In anticipation of his “Watch You” single featuring Pitbull and Disco Fries, Clinton Sparks unleashes a remix of massive proportions, sampling Lit‘s famous 90s rock ballad and one of my all-time favorite songs growing up, “My Own Worst Enemy” featuring Lit lead singer Ajay Popoff. Clinton recently attended an EMI writers conference, and has collaborations in the works with Akon, Chris Brown, and more.

Now you can play a crowd favorite without losing the uptempo energy & with the raging electro drop, its perfect for Raves & Vegas style parties. Maybe not perfect to play on a sunday night, but save this for the weekend and your friends will sure be impressed with the find.

Here’s live footage of Clinton Sparks unleashing his “My Own Worst Enemy” remix with singer Ajay Popoff, who is the lead singer of Lit. (more…)

Leaf ft. Sky Blu of LMFAO – Uh-Oh (Came Here To Party)

November 1st, 2011 by | Electropop, Pop |

This is probably the best pop song submission we have ever received. If this doesn’t get on mainstream radio, it just shows the record labels are not paying enough to get this newcomer Leaf on the radio. This pop banger, produced by Clinton Sparks & DJ Snake, features Sky Blu of LMFAO.

Here’s a little bit more about the artist and her latest song:

Leaf is a singer-songwriter from NYC. Her first single Uh-Oh (Came here to party) was co-produced by Clinton Sparks and features Party Rockers LMFAO. Her single dropped last spring and since then has had over 34,000 plays. She was recently invited to debut her single at the Bamboozle Festival. Her cool kid style transcends impeccably in the studio where recording feels less like work and more like a dance party.

Sampled Saturday *Flo Rida, Clinton Sparks, A Cultivator, Cypher Clique, Josh Bonney

August 27th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, Remix, Sampled Saturday |

Haven’t done one of these Sampled Saturday editions in a while so here goes five fairly new songs that sample other songs to create something new and different.

First let’s go with Clinton Sparks who sampled The Cars “Just What I Needed”. I love the original, I kind of like Clinton’s new take on it with “She’s A Pro”. “She’s A Pro” has a catchy club-pop sound that can be played anywhere to start the party.

Flo Rida is probably the catchiest, most pop sounding hip-hop artist out there today. You could argue Pitbull as well but in terms of having a slightly more rap sound Flo Rida brings it with “Good Feeling” which is produced by Avicii and samples his “Levels” song. Immediately I downloaded this when I heard the Avicii was on this and Flo’s rapping doesn’t really hurt in how much of a banger the original is.

Next let’s go to a more old school sample with A Cultivator‘s “This World”. Not sure the artist being sampled and I don’t know much about A Cultivator except the rapping can be improved but I can’t knock the soulful sample.

Next we got Cypher Clique with “Say I” which samples Daniel Beddingfield. Sampling a pop song and turning it into an upbeat hip-hop song, I like!

Lastly comes an artist featured on a previous Sampled Saturday. This time Josh Bonney samples M.I.A. giving his hip-hop an alternative feel that some may like and some may dismiss.

If you want more samples, check out, a pretty good resource on what song gets sampled and the song that is sampling.

Chris Young – Value Pack 2: Cream & Sugar (mixtape)

May 9th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Mixtape Monday |

Chris Young the Rapper is one cocky mutha fucka. He’s always tweeting that he’s better than Tyler The Creator and many other rappers. However, rappers need a little cockiness. So even though I think his cockiness is silly, he’s still a real good musician.

Recently he dropped Value Back 2: Cream & Sugar (Download) which I didn’t expect to enjoy a lot. However I thoroughly enjoyed the production, the rapping and how each of the tracks stand out from one another. In other words, I like that Chris Young’s songs have different qualities which make them enjoyable. Here’s my 3 favorites.

Electronic Pop Hop *PJ Simas, Zion I, Pitbull, Ariez Onasis, Damani

April 22nd, 2011 by | Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

Electronic Pop Hop, a genre that is quickly becoming mainstream with where the hip-hop industry is heading into more pop/dance beats. I wish there was still a little mainstream gangsta rap, but I guess that’s not cool anymore, so here’s 5 great electronic pop hop songs to get your night started right.

Cal Poly student-musician PJ Simas recently released “Ocean Drop”. It’s got a more pop feel than more of his older stuff but also catchier. Can’t wait until his upcoming mixtape, Triple Play, comes out April 29th.
PJ Simas – Ocean Drop
Here’s a new artist on the site, Damani. I like the piano beat and the relaxed instrumentals and Damani has a solid flow to make this a chill track.
Damani – biggest mistake
Another chill song with a dope beat, some of the best bay area rapping in Zion I and cool synth-ed up falsetto hook. Also The Grouch‘s rhymes are solid.
Zion I & The Grouch – Rockit Man feat. Silk-E
Time to pick up the beat. Ariez Onasis, Fatman Scoop and Clinton Sparks with a dance club banger. The production is killer, the lyrics are silly but that doesn’t matter, go crazy on this track.
Ariez Onasis – Go Crazy (Ft. Fatman Scoop & Clinton Sparks)
Lastly for the most mainstream track we have featured in a while, Pitbull, transcending beyond Reggaeton to what the record labels want, upbeat hip-pop tracks to dance/sing to. Plus Ne-Yo vocals in this are strong as usual.
Pitbull – Give Me Everything (feat Nayer & Ne-Yo)

4 new Mike Posner remixes

April 9th, 2011 by | Dance, Dubstep, Remix |

First let’s go with the softer pop remix from The Council on Mike Posner‘s “Bow Chicka Wow Wow” featuring Lil Wayne. If I were a girl I would love this song but as a guy I think it’s catchy with the piano, drums and finger snaps.
Mike Posner & Lil Wayne – Bow Chicka Wow Wow (The Council Remix)
Next we got one of our favorite electro hip-pop duos with AudioDax doing a dubstep remix of Mike Posner’s “Cheated”. AudioDax really turns this into a club hit and with the lyrics about cheating, this is a must-play at the dance clubs. They throw some rapping in too, behind the dope instrumentals they throw in furthering the quality in this one.

Last month, DJ Benzi put out a SXSW mixtape which consisted of many remixes from several DJ’s and some original tracks from up-and-coming artists. Below is one of my favorite tracks off the mixtape which is DJ Enferno remixing “Ambiguous” by Clinton Sparks & Mike Posner. No Big Sean in this, I think his lyrical flow doesn’t fit into the pace and catchiness of this club jam.

This came out in February but it’s dope as Johnny Lawson adds some catchy instrumentals and overall I’m very impressed by the instrumentals in this as it turns “Save Your Goodbye” into an electro banger.
