“Chocolate rainfalls and vanilla swirls, infinite climaxes and toes that curl. Release your inhibition, this is no exhibition cause giving you pleasure is my soul mission.”
-DJ Eazy Dick

Mister Mistress and DJ Eazy Dick have teamed up to bring you the Smooth Hour. Thirty three and a half minutes of… well, actually not one word could describe this tape. It hits with a fresh new sound that is just so eargasmic.

This song, T.K.O. ft PC, is a stand-out track for me.

Robotic Pirate Monkey – Rio de Fuego *electronic single

October 8th, 2011 by | Dance, Electronic Rock |

Shout out to Freedzy for turning me onto Boulder, Colorado electronic artist, Robotic Pirate Monkey. Recently RPM’s management sent us “Rio de Fuego” the first single off their upcoming project to be released on Halloween! I just love the instrumentals which incorporate various elements not common with most electronic songs. “Rio de Fuego” isn’t one of those songs filled with synths but sounds real natural.

Radar Noon – “Forget Me Nods”

September 19th, 2011 by | Dance, Rock |

Good Monday Kids,

I’m here sitting in class wishing it was still the weekend, I have a feeling I’m not the only with a case of the Mondays. For that reason, I’m here to hook it up with a new song that is going to “PUMP YOU UP.” (That was in my best Schwarzenegger impression.) This song “Forget Me Nods” is by Colorado artist Radar Noon. He has a fresh new sound to the world of electronica rock. It’s got a real good thump to it with metal-like guitar. Without further to do:

I want you to blow up his Facebook and download his FREE 10-song EP on Bandcamp.

J_Mal – Earthquake

July 27th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

When you think of big hip-hop cities, one of the last places you’ll think of is Boulder, CO. However, J_Mal, AKA Kendrick Celestine is trying to change that. A football player at the University of Colorado in Boulder, J_Mal is developing a huge presence out there being one of the only local hip-hop acts in Colorado.

Working with Nu Productions, J_Mal dropped “Earthquake,” a serious dance party club jam. The song is fun and super catchy, and I could definitely see this being played in clubs across the country. Good looks.

Follow J_Mal on Twitter and you can check out his newest 5 song EP/Mixtape here.

Chris Brown – Look at Me Now (Ft. Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes) (Slim Thugz Remix)

July 16th, 2011 by | Dance, Dubstep, Hip-Hop/Rap, Remix |

Slim Thugz are a group of dubstep producers out of Colorado, and this track has them adding their unique style to the smash “Look at Me Know.” A lot of dubstep remixes of rap songs totally destroy the original song in favor of huge whomps, but with Slim Thugz, the original song remains intact. They just add their own fat beats and transform the song into a serious jam.

For more Slim Thugz, follow them on Facebook and check out a bunch more songs on their soundcloud. Keep an eye on these dudes. They’re climbing the ladder of Colorado electronic music and are playing at Global Dance Fest this weekend.

Concert Review: Glitch Mob at Red Rocks (with Lotus, MiMOSA, and the New Deal)

July 6th, 2011 by | Dance, Dubstep, Remix |

Last Saturday’s Glitch Mob show was my first concert at the famed Red Rocks. Since I moved to Colorado last year, people have been pretty much unanimously telling me “go to Red Rocks!” or asking “you haven’t been to Red Rocks yet?! You have to go!” I had never been to a venue that I thought was really THAT amazing, but Red Rocks definitely is that. Maybe it’s the venue, with it’s enormous rock formations, maybe it’s the energy of 9,000+ jammers in the crowd, or maybe it’s something else entirely, but each band I saw on Saturday absolutely killed it. The lineup was Com Truise, the New Deal, MiMOSA, Lotus, and the Glitch Mob. On paper, this would be an epic night of electronic jams. Little did I know what would actually go down…
