Cypher Clique – “High School” (Prod. Heretic) [Music Video + DL Link]

March 3rd, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Cypher Clique returns and with an awesome new music video and track known as “High School”. It’s a legit track with Heretic doing an awesome job on the boards. This group reminds me of a young The Cool Kids or Pac Div (ugh). They have an old school hip-hop feel to them which is always a plus as well. They have some talent and it will be very interesting to see how they mature as artists. Enjoy!

soundcloud710 600x257 Soundclouds Best: January 2012 *Damien J. Carter, Gabe and Benny, Matt Balfe, Cypher CliqueHere’s our best soundcloud submissions from January. Make sure to share tracks with us to our soundcloud!

The first track is from Damien J. Carter and Claudio Lari, two up-and-coming DJs from Europe. They just released a free banging track called “Pyro” that is a must-listen if you like electro-house music.

If Rebecca Black was couple of males instead of a young girl and liked to do some rapping with her subpar vocals, this is what she would sound like. Check out Gabe and Benny‘s “Party”, it’s got a fun pop vibe with brief moments of rap and dubstep and the singers saying the word “Party” a lot. Download the song on their website.

Next is Matt Balfe with “Give Myself to You”. I think the track needs some vocals and maybe a remix/refix from Balfe or some other DJ. The Australian DJ who does mostly house, electro and dance club type music is an up-and-comer to be on the lookout for!

Lastly we end with some chill sampled hip-hop from Cypher Clique. They sample Pete Rock, and have some dope rhymes over the old school hip-hop jam. I look forward to more original material from Cypher Clique but for now I can dig this old school vibe.

Cypher Clique Cypher Clique The Message *Old School Rap Feel
Are you like me and been craving hip-hop with an old school feel? If so, then this track is for you.  Cypher Clique uploaded “The Message” on Soundcloud a week ago and when I came across it, I was very impressed. It’s a slow hip-hop song but a good one. Reminds me of the old mixing with the new. kick back, relax and enjoy the track!

Sampled Saturday *Flo Rida, Clinton Sparks, A Cultivator, Cypher Clique, Josh Bonney

August 27th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, Remix, Sampled Saturday |

who sampled Sampled Saturday *Flo Rida, Clinton Sparks, A Cultivator, Cypher Clique, Josh Bonney Haven’t done one of these Sampled Saturday editions in a while so here goes five fairly new songs that sample other songs to create something new and different.

First let’s go with Clinton Sparks who sampled The Cars “Just What I Needed”. I love the original, I kind of like Clinton’s new take on it with “She’s A Pro”. “She’s A Pro” has a catchy club-pop sound that can be played anywhere to start the party.

Flo Rida is probably the catchiest, most pop sounding hip-hop artist out there today. You could argue Pitbull as well but in terms of having a slightly more rap sound Flo Rida brings it with “Good Feeling” which is produced by Avicii and samples his “Levels” song. Immediately I downloaded this when I heard the Avicii was on this and Flo’s rapping doesn’t really hurt in how much of a banger the original is.

Next let’s go to a more old school sample with A Cultivator‘s “This World”. Not sure the artist being sampled and I don’t know much about A Cultivator except the rapping can be improved but I can’t knock the soulful sample.

Next we got Cypher Clique with “Say I” which samples Daniel Beddingfield. Sampling a pop song and turning it into an upbeat hip-hop song, I like!

Lastly comes an artist featured on a previous Sampled Saturday. This time Josh Bonney samples M.I.A. giving his hip-hop an alternative feel that some may like and some may dismiss.

If you want more samples, check out WhoSampled.com, a pretty good resource on what song gets sampled and the song that is sampling.
