Party music with CHUCKIE, DOSVEC, SAVOY, AP Bop, and Tievoli

September 7th, 2011 by | Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Mashup, Pop, Remix |

Party music with CHUCKIE, DOSVEC, SAVOY, AP Bop, and TievoliFive songs that are guaranteed ready for playing at the party. Also these had party listed in the genre which is another reason why I bunched these songs together.

First we got Chuckie‘s bootleg which mixes the beat and vocals from the Kanye West/Jay-Z track “Niggas In Paris” with a variety of sounds extracted from the classic Benny Benassi track “Satisfaction”. Chuckie is truly a talented DJ y’all need to be following.

Next DOSVEC makes “Sunshine Lights” mixing instrumentals from the Avicii/David Guetta track “Sunshine” with the vocals from Ellie Goulding‘s “Lights”. It seems pretty easy to throw Ellie Goulding‘s vocals in any mashup but being a huge fan of “Sunshine” makes this sound like a catchy club banger.

Savoy makes a Dance Sex Remix to the catchy dance pop hit “Dancing in the Dark” by Dev. I’m loving how much of a banger Savoy turns it into, can easily see this playing at clubs and parties.

Now for some Party Rap from AP Bop and MattyFee. The rapping isn’t spectacular but the instrumentals are banging. Yo frat bros, book these guys at your next party, this is a solid good party sound.

AP Bop ft. MattyFee – Blessed Bounce

Lastly we end with Tievoli‘s party mashup “Party Shots”. I don’t hear a ton of techno in mashups these days yet it works as it’s not the most complex mashup but there’s not too much complex about party mashups.

Dance *DJ Kue, Alexandra Stan, Inna, N’Joy and Julio Bashmore

August 23rd, 2011 by | Dance, Electronic Tuesday, Remix |

Dance *DJ Kue, Alexandra Stan, Inna, NJoy and Julio BashmoreFive dance songs to get you moving as it’s Tuesday and time to party? Well not exactly but there’s always time to dance. Some of these songs are from 2010, some are recent, some are remixes, some are originals; but they all have one thing in common, they are good songs to groove to.

First we got a new remix from DJ Kue. He takes a pop-dance song and gives it an electronica/dance beat to it, making it a banger if your in the club or at dope party.
Dev – In the Dark (It’s The DJ Kue Remix!)

Next we got Cafe Zurich with “Diadem”. This gets remixed by N’Joy and although I know nothing about any of these people in this song, I really like it and think it’s got some banging synths.
Café Zürich – Diadem (N’Joy Remix)

Next we got “Battle For Middle You” by Julio Bashmore, an up-and-comer in the dance music genre. He’s got a solid build-up to this song, love how it picks up around the 1:30 mark and has various synths and beats, giving it different parts to enjoy. Download
Julio Bashmore – BATTLE FOR MIDDLE YOU

Next we go with a song that came out in 2010 called “Mr. Saxobeat” by Alexandra Stan. This is such a smooth dance beat that should be played in just about every dance club/party you attend. Heard this song on Spotify or Pandora and immediately downloaded it after hearing it. Download
Alexandra Stan – Mr Saxobeat

Lastly we go with Inna with “Sun Is Up”, has some similar elements to “Mr. Saxobeat” above except there’s a nice little horn sample to add a little sexiness to the song.

Well I hope these five songs satisfy your dance needs.

Dance Remix *Moby, Proper Villians, Soundpusher, Cobra Starship, Lightwaves

June 30th, 2011 by | Ambient, Dance, Remix |

Dance+Remix 150x150 Dance Remix *Moby, Proper Villians, Soundpusher, Cobra Starship, LightwavesUsually I list the artists that get remixed but decided to list the artists that remix the songs in the post title.

First we go with Moby who remixed electronic pop artist Holy Ghost!‘s “Wait & See”. I have never been a fan of Moby, too many people influenced the idea to me that he’s not someone to like so I have never sought out his music. Happy this stumbled its way to my iTunes.
Holy Ghost! – Wait & See (Moby Remix)
Next we go with Proper Villains remix of Dev‘s “Dancing In The Dark”. Proper Villains adds some dope instrumentals to add just another element to a song I normally wouldn’t like but the remix is banging.
Dev – Dancing In The Dark (Proper Villains Remix)
Does anybody know how Na Palm has over 225,000 facebook fans!?! That’s so many from a musician whose stuff I haven’t really heard on the radio, haven’t seen anything from him on TV and haven’t heard of any worldwide tour. Either way, The Soundpusher Club-Step Edit to “Two Days Straight” turns this into a banger that needs to be played in the clubs.
Na Palm – Two Days Straight [The Soundpusher Club-Step Edit]
Cobra Starship decides to remix a Chromeo song. I like the instrumentals they add, really adds more of an 80′s electro-pop feel to it. Mostly I’m a fan of the Daft Punk-sounding hook but the instrumentals are so smooth.
Chromeo – Hot Mess (Cobra Starship Remix)
Lastly one of my favorite up-and-coming musicians in Australia, Strange Talk, got remixed by Lightwaves. I love the original and the remix has some solid additions, nothing too special but if you like the original, you will really like this. If you like remixes, there’s a good chance you will like this. If you like to dance, this is a fairly solid tune to groove to.
Strange Talk – Eskimo Boy (Lightwaves Remix)

Shwayze – Butterflies (video) x Love Letter (video trailer)

June 8th, 2011 by | Pop |

633534505200000000 Shwayze Butterflies (video) x Love Letter (video trailer)Recently Shawyze released a music video with Cisco Adler titled “Butterflies”. As they try to make it back to mainstream music level, I think they got lots of talent to make chill hip-pop music that is very catchy. “Butterflies” is off Shwayze/Cisco Adler‘s last mixtape, The W’s.

Recently Shwayze released a music video trailer to “Love Letter”, a song he dropped last year when he changed his artist name briefly to Aaron Smith. However in this new version of the song, he’s got Dev featured on it and The Cataracs are back on it as well. Here’s the full version of the song and the music video trailer is after the jump.

Mixtape Monday: Donnis – Southern Lights

April 25th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Mixtape Monday |

Mixtape Monday: Donnis Southern LightsThis mixtape has a quality sound to it that confirms my belief that Donnis will be the next platinum-record selling hip-hop artist out of ATL. He’s got a dope unique style but with every 3-5 great songs on each project he puts out, there are many others that are stinkers. Here’s 3 of my favorites from his latest mixtape, Southern Lights (Download).

donnis1 450x450 Donnis Ring My Bell (featuring Dev)Donnis returns with a new track of his “Ring My Bell” featuring Dev. This is the newest leak from the much anticipated Southern Lights project. Donnis’ rapping is superb as usual and I really love the instrumentals produced by Syience as it provides a unique type of sound I have never heard before with bells ringing in the background. This is the type of track which will gain Donnis a lot more recognition and I look forward to a lot more new tracks by him. Enjoy!

Why are we whispering 600x579 Dev Bass Down Low (Why are we whispering Remix)iSH and Don Diablo, better known as Why are we whispering, just put out a hot new remix over the club radio banger by Dev, “Bass down low”. Above is footage behind the scenes of the recording of the remix. The original is catchy but this remix is on another level with really good rapping from iSH and Don Diablo taking the song in a less poppy tone.
