Stream+buy: Diplo and Don Diablo – Make You Pop (Charlie Darker remix)

March 27th, 2012 by | Electro, Remix |

Charlie Darker is the next big artist in electronic dance music! Slowed to 112 BPM, Darker’s remix brings a rougher edge to the original track from Diplo and Don Diablo, shaping it for the dirtyness of a dark, sweaty dancefloor. With less bleeps and blops, he accentuates the tribal build-up, leading the listener into a distortion-heavy drop that’s sure to leave you wanting more.

FYI, Charlie Darker is coming out with an original progressive electro track this week called “Dojo”. Make sure to check back on for the free download!

Star Slinger update *2 new songs featuring Reggie B, Shear-Jashub and Diplo

November 23rd, 2011 by | Remix |

Two new songs that dropped within the last week or so that involve up-and-comer Star Slinger slanging dope instrumentals with solidly built production from the lyricism to the beats. The first song is a remix to a electronic remix to an R&B original. First Star Slinger remixed Reggie B‘s “Dumbin'” and then Diplo remixed that.

The next Star Slinger remix is to the hip-hop song “Anything” by Shear-Jashub. Update: Star Slinger has informed us that Shear-Jashub actually rapped over an old beat of his. Star Slinger did not remix this but his production is featured on the majority of the track. Still, this is a bonified 5-star in my book and a must-download!

By the way, here’s the original remix Star Slinger did to the Reggie B “Dumbin'” song. It’s solid but I like what Diplo adds to it.

Dubstep *Adventure Club, Nero, Bassnectar/ill.Gates, Voodoo Farm, Diplo/Datsik

September 16th, 2011 by | Dance, Dubstep, Electro, Remix |

If you want to dance like a zombie, put this shiiiittttt on!

Adventure Club might be one of my recent favorite dubstep remix DJ’s. I put on for my city, let’s go!

Nero released this in August, I like that he’s stepped a little away from some of the more hardcore dubstep as this is a catchy song you can dance to without looking weird.

Download: Nero – Scorpions

Now for some weird downtempo dubstep/electronic from up-and-coming DJs Bassnectar and ill.Gates. However it’s pretty good, definitely more a song for chilling out than partying to.

Next Voodoo Farm takes Marvin Gaye‘s “Grapevine” and turns it into an dubstep/electro banger. It’s got a chill flow.

Lastly we got Diplo and Datsik collaborating on “Pick Your Poison” featuring Kay. This is an electro/dubstep type track, a serious banger with dubstep that doesn’t overwhelm the rest of the track.

Mansions on the Moon – Darkness

June 20th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Dance |

Mansions on the Moon has only been around a little over a year, yet they are already getting major attention. Their debut mixtape Paradise Falls was co-signed by Pharrell and Diplo, and featured collaborations with huge names like Xaphoon Jones, Deadmau5, and Big Gigantic. I got a chance to see them open for Mac Miller and Wiz on the Green Carpet tour, and these dudes definitely held it down in front of a huge crowd that seemed not ready for their style of indie/hip-hop/electro. If you haven’t download Paradise Falls yet, get it below:

Download: Mansions on the Moon – Paradise Falls

The genre bending trio just dropped “Darkness,” the first single off their upcoming album Lightyears due out later this year. With the momentum they’ve built over their first year of existence as a band, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.

Thanks to ThisSongIsSick for the track

Diplo – “One Kid” (featuring Nicki Minaj, Sleigh Bells, & SHM)

April 28th, 2011 by | Dubstep, Hip-Hop/Rap, Remix |

Diplo recently remixed SHM’s beat to create “One Kid” and adding Nicki Minaj and Sleigh Bells on the track adds credibility to this song and it’s pretty damn sick. It is definitely a track that will get you up on your feet and dancing. It is currently the #7 most popular song on and for good reason. Enjoy!

Hidden Gem: Trouble Andrew *Brooklyn Crunk Rock

March 2nd, 2011 by | Hidden Gem, Rock |

Figuring out what to post tonight among all the music I got that I need to post was tough. I realized it’s time to introduce you to Trouble Andrew. I discovered Trouble Andrew on a facebook event page for another artists’ mixtape release party, googled him and now were here.

He’s got a catchy punk rock feel, actually it’s coined crunk rock to more specifically describe Trouble Andre. Trouble Andrew aka Trevor Andrew is based in Brooklyn, is married to Santogold and has a fun punk rock sound that reminds me of a little darker sounding New Kingdom if I had to compare to a current band.

However Trouble Andrew has a sort of neo-punk style with influences from early punk rock. Trust me that after Trouble Andrew performs at SXSW next week, you will hear a lot of other music media sites give him some positive reviews.

About 10 months ago, Trouble Andrew released Trouble Gang Mixtape, a 29-track project featuring an incredible range of collaborators including Lil Jon, Santogold, Diplo, Curren$y, Ninjasonik and much more. The mixtape has some rock, R&B, and some solid hip-hop as well. Before you download the mixtape, listen and download these three and if you like those, then listen and download Trouble Gang Mixtape on soundcloud.

Chris Brown – Beautiful People x Best Luv Song x Look At Me Now

February 20th, 2011 by | Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, R&B |

I know Chris Brown ain’t a role model or anything good or an emerging talent which we usually cover on here, but his music is really catchy. I’m not into the R&B/Pop stuff that much except for John Legend but Chris Brown always seems to make good catchy pop songs.

Below are three catchy hip-hop/pop songs with Chris Brown, they have a nice electronica feel and are produced by some of the best DJs around the world in Benny Benassi, Diplo and Afrojack.

Best You Never Heard II: Fall/Winter edition

December 30th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Before Bigs Exclusive, Daily Mix, Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Mashup, Pop, R&B, Remix, Rock |

It’s that time of the year where we would like to give back. Sometimes I feel we don’t give back to our readers enough and we are working to fix that in 2011. Until then, here’s a mixtape we created.

It’s called Best You Never Heard II, which is a mixtape showcasing some of the best up-and-coming talent in music from the last several months. It’s a collection of 20 songs of mostly hip-hop with a little bit of rock, pop, R&B and mashups/remixes (much like our site’s content).

Listen to the mixtape below, and download through mediafire.
