First 3 Stripes and DJ Troublemaker remixed the KF song, “Appreciation”. It’s got an electro/dubstep feel and is a certified BANGER!

King Fantastic also dropped a music video to “On Q” a couple months back. I think the song is solid, not their best work though. The video is crazy and is definitely NSFW as half-naked women and Killer Reese One are playing russian roulette plus there are some titty scenes and people shooting bullets at heads. Yea it’s a crazy video but then again King Fantastic‘s music is crazy good, so it works well. (more…)

3 mashups I love *Chambaland, Kevin Shoemaker, DJ Troublemaker

March 7th, 2011 by | Mashup, Mashup Monday |

king fantastic x rusko 3 mashups I love *Chambaland, Kevin Shoemaker, DJ TroublemakerBelow are three mashups that I really love but haven’t blogged about yet. In order of most recent to oldest.

DJ Troublemaker of King Fantastic recently did a mashup with the Killer Reese One vocals from “Why? Where? What?” (a King Fantastic song) with Rusko instrumentals. It really gives it an electro/dubstep feel with chill rap.

Next is one of the more interesting mashes, with Kevin Shoemaker mixing hip-hop with classical music. The hip-hop is Jay-Z & Kanye West, and classical piano from Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Concerto No. 2″. KShoe makes his mashups differently from most mashup DJ’s and I look forward to more from him.

Lastly is Chambaland who used mostly Phoenix instrumentals with Jason DeRulo & Imogen Heap vocals. The creativity in this is dope, and whenever you use Phoenix, I can’t help but enjoy it.

Today one of my favorite electronic hip-hop duos, King Fantastic, released their latest music video for “Lost Art of Killing” (download). Here’s what King Fantastic had to say about the music video:

The video follows MC Killer Reese One through his typical day: breakfast with his family and beautiful wife, Ida Ljungqvist (2009 Playmate of the Year), meetings with associates and his assistant Heather Rae Young (Miss February 2010) before picking up meat for  dinner on the way home.

By the way, this was directed by Nicholaus Goosen, who was in the film, Grandma’s Boy. Also if you haven’t seen the interview I did with King Fantastic back in 2010, check that out but make sure you put the volume on maximum. Enjoy!

Interview with King Fantastic (BeforeBigs exclusive)

January 25th, 2011 by | Before Bigs Exclusive, Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap |

king fantastic Interview with King Fantastic (BeforeBigs exclusive)We did this interview back in 2010 after King Fantastic performed at The Highlands club in Hollywood. I want to thank King Fantastic for being gracious enough to meet with us and be interviewed. Also want to thank my friend David for filming.

PUT THE VOLUME ON MAXIMUM WHEN WATCHING, the sound quality didn’t come out as good as we expected.

What King Fantastic didn’t mention in the interview is they are wrapping up a music video for “Lost Art of Killing”, which comes out February 8. Did you watch the interview yet and hear parts of King Fantastic’s dope music? If not, here’s a few of our favorite songs. *To download: Right-click (PC) or control-click (Mac).
