Wale and Mac Miller Collaboration!

April 6th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Wale and Mac Miller get together to give the world “So What” which is produced by Don Cannon. The two rappers never disappoint once with their flow and lyricism  being flawless on this track. Don Cannon provides great instrumentals on the boards. The three combine make an awesome track which will likely be on repeat in many of your ipods and phones for a little while now. Enjoy!

This past week, Gilbere Forte‘ dropped his latest mixtape, Eyes of Veritas, which is hosted by and primarily produced by Don Cannon. Gilbere keeps showing improvement with his music and I look forward to seeing him perform while he’s in LA for the rest of this month.

Below are two of my favorites off Eyes of Veritas.
Gilbere Forte’ – VERITAS
Gilbere Forte’ – THE EXPORTS (ft. Emilio Rojas, Reek Da Villain, Murda Mook, Joell Ortiz)

Gilbere Forte’ – Please Don’t Worry x Born in ’87 x Train Lights

If there’s a rapper that you should follow closely in 2011 because big things are going to happen for him, it’s Gilbere Forte. The Flint, Michigan MC jumped onto the scene in Kanye West’s remix to the electro house song by Stromae, which turned out to be a great club hit worldwide.

In 2011 he has released four new songs, two of which are featured on his upcoming project dropping February 8, EYES of VERITAS, which is hosted by Don Cannon. Below are three of my favorites from Gilbere in 2011 so far. *click the down arrow on the left side of soundcloud player to download that song*

Hidden Gem: Phil Ade *Miss Temptation x Break Me Off

January 28th, 2011 by | Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

I have had mixed feelings about Phil Ade’s music. Some songs I really like and other’s I don’t care for too much. Recently the DMV-area MC put out a couple dope tracks that really show his potential, plus the production behind it is great.

“Miss Temptation” is produced by Sunny Norway has a more chill feel, vocals kind of remind me of Kanye West, especially what Phil Ade does on the hook.

“Break Me Off” is produced by BrandUn Deshay, who is like Big K.R.I.T. in that he’s a good rapper and a great producer. Love the instrumentals and the rapping on this.

Check out Phil’s last mixtape, The Letterman (Download), which was mixed by Don Cannon. Here’s my favorite track off it.
