Download: Air Dubai – All Day *electronic pop hop

September 21st, 2012 by | Alternative/Indie, Chill/Jam/Reggae, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

New single from Denver’s Air Dubai that I couldn’t be more excited for. After featuring Air Dubai on Best You Never Heard 4 almost a year ago, they have been touring and recording their new album. About a week ago, they released “All Day”, their debut single off Be Calm, due out this fall.

“All Day” is a mix of hip-hop/pop over some slick electronic beats. With “All Day”, it’s a little less soul and rock than previous releases but more upbeat electronic and proves you never know what to expect with Air Dubai, which I love!

Stream and download “All Day” below.

Chuck Revere – Lost & Found ft. Sarah Miles *electronic pop hop

March 13th, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Got a new song from Chuck Revere called “Lost & Found”. I didn’t expect to like this song but I like the smooth electronica instrumental and the rapping is fairly well. Sarah Miles adds some solid vocals on the hook and overall I look forward to more from Mr. Revere.

Here is the 2nd single off of Chucks upcoming mixtape, Better Late Than Never, “Lost & Found”.

Flying Without Wingz – Blast Off *electronic pop hop

September 13th, 2011 by | Dance, Electronic Tuesday, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

Released in early August, Flying Without Wingz dropped “Blast Off” which has a variety of influences as a genre-blending piece. You can hear elements of hip-hop, electronic, pop and overall it’s fairly catchy. If you’re looking for new hip-hop or electronic being taken in an even more futuristic approach, look no further than “Blast Off”.

Na Palm – She Like That (ft. Machine Gun Kelly)

June 27th, 2011 by | Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

An awesome new collab has finally cyber space. Na Palm and Machine Gun Kelly get together to create “She Like That”, a dubstep influenced hip-hop track with both artists killing with their rapping over a hard beat. Truthfully, I am growing a little tired of dubstep but this track adds a bit of a spark to it. I was also not fully sold on MGK but now I am starting to like him and this track has a lot to do with that. Enjoy!

Hidden Gem: StartYourOwnRebellion (mixtape+video)

May 8th, 2011 by | Electronic Rock, Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

StartYourOwnRebellion is a alternative/hip-hop quartet that recently started getting much attention with their song featuring J. Cole. They are also being pushed by J. Cole’s Dreamville imprint, which means a lot to most hip-hop heads considering J. Cole is one of the best up-and-coming artists out there.

I found out SYOR put out a mixtape, LP3020 (download), which uses production from Ratatat. Also they did a music video for one of my favorite songs, “Right Here”, which uses interesting Japanese anime, real cool. Below is a few of my favorites and after the jump you can find their music video for “Right Here”.

Neon Hitch – Silly Girl (Brenton Duvall Remix ft. Wiz Khalifa)

May 4th, 2011 by | Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Mashup, Pop, Remix |

Brenton Duvall is back with another dope mashup mixing together a Wiz Khalifa and Neon Hitch for a banging electronic pop hop. Thing I love about Brenton Duvall besides his progression as a musician from doing mashups to now producing for artists like Young Prince and Tayyib Ali, is that almost all of his songs have big differences in terms of the sound.

First time I heard Brenton Duvall was in a mashup between Lil Wayne and Passion Pit which is still one of my favorite mashups today. However his progression from a simple yet catchy mashup like that to the complexity in his latest productions just shows how talented this kid is.

Below listen and download “Silly Girl”.

Introducing Dancernaut *electronic hip-pop

April 28th, 2011 by | Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

Dancernaut is an artist that uses electronic type beats and then has a hip-hop/pop style over them. I think it’s real catchy, fun to listen to and perfect for a party/club atmosphere. Get thirsty Thursday started with these two Dancernaut tracks.

Electronic Pop Hop *PJ Simas, Zion I, Pitbull, Ariez Onasis, Damani

April 22nd, 2011 by | Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

Electronic Pop Hop, a genre that is quickly becoming mainstream with where the hip-hop industry is heading into more pop/dance beats. I wish there was still a little mainstream gangsta rap, but I guess that’s not cool anymore, so here’s 5 great electronic pop hop songs to get your night started right.

Cal Poly student-musician PJ Simas recently released “Ocean Drop”. It’s got a more pop feel than more of his older stuff but also catchier. Can’t wait until his upcoming mixtape, Triple Play, comes out April 29th.
PJ Simas – Ocean Drop
Here’s a new artist on the site, Damani. I like the piano beat and the relaxed instrumentals and Damani has a solid flow to make this a chill track.
Damani – biggest mistake
Another chill song with a dope beat, some of the best bay area rapping in Zion I and cool synth-ed up falsetto hook. Also The Grouch‘s rhymes are solid.
Zion I & The Grouch – Rockit Man feat. Silk-E
Time to pick up the beat. Ariez Onasis, Fatman Scoop and Clinton Sparks with a dance club banger. The production is killer, the lyrics are silly but that doesn’t matter, go crazy on this track.
Ariez Onasis – Go Crazy (Ft. Fatman Scoop & Clinton Sparks)
Lastly for the most mainstream track we have featured in a while, Pitbull, transcending beyond Reggaeton to what the record labels want, upbeat hip-pop tracks to dance/sing to. Plus Ne-Yo vocals in this are strong as usual.

FlyRydaz – Mama Told Me x Shining Star

March 24th, 2011 by | Dance, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

FlyRydaz are very under-looked sometimes. Their electro/hip-hop influenced sound puts together a great blend of awesome rapping, a catchy hook, and face-paced instrumentals all in one and their newest track “Mama Told Me” is no different.

Siegz edit: another track that FlyRydaz put out that I enjoy is “Shining Star”, which has an electronic pop hop style with the usual FlyRydaz signature of catchy hooks over club instrumentals.

Hidden Gem: Smokey Robotic *electronic pop hop

February 27th, 2011 by | Electropop, Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Watch the music video above for “Forever My Love” (DOWNLOAD) and I think you will agree Smokey Robotic is a pretty cool music group. Their music mixes genre’s with mostly electronic synthed up instrumentals over a mix of pop, hip-hop and R&B. Overall they are a funky band and they have become one of my favorites where I can’t wait til they release new music.

Below are two of my favorites from the New York/Vancouver genre-blending music group. I say genre-blending because it would be an injustice to stick them into a genre when their music is so diverse.
Smokey Robotic – Voices (newest song)
Smokey Robotic – Outside the Lines (Uptown)
