FO 1JQ5ASQS11W11 600x399 Review: Fools Gold and Isaac Rother & The Phantoms at EchoplexLast Thursday I witnessed Isaac Rother & The Phantoms and Fool’s Gold live at The Echoplex as part of Red Bull Sound Select’s monthly LA concert series showcasing underrated bands. It was truly a great show with Isaac Rother & The Phantoms bringing a 60′s and 70′s psychedelic rock pop variety that was catchy and fun. (more…)

This was my 2nd time attending Pacific Festival and this year they toned it down on worldwide acts (last year Snoop Dogg, Cut Copy, Steve Aoki and Calvin Harris were some notable favorites) but they moved the location away from an isolated area (from Oak Canyon Ranch to Newport Beach) and really created this unique festival vibe on a beach.

While E-Wish’s review was straight to the point, it only covered half the acts we saw and is very simple.  Read my full review below.

OnCue – New Religion (prod. by Party Supplies & Just Blaze)

oncue new religion pj 600x600 OnCue New Religion (prod. by Party Supplies & Just Blaze)We got dat new new OnCue. I love how upbeat and original this is. According to Cuey, the song started off somewhere, and ended in another place — and the final outcome is one of the most “fun” records he’s released in a long time.

Listen and download “New Religion” below, a banger hip-hop track produced by Fool’s Gold artist/producer Party Supplies and Just Blaze.

The video for “Kinda Late” (ft. Mike Posner) that Just Blaze directed is dropping sometime soon, and also the video to “Rich Kid”.

Treasure Fingers at Club Avalon Hollywood

treasurefingers club avalon 600x390 Treasure Fingers at Club Avalon HollywoodLast Friday we got media passes for Club Avalon Hollywood to review Disco House DJ, Treasure Fingers. Upon arriving at the infamous dance club in Hollywood, CA, I immediately fell in love with how spacious the venue is. With at least 3 different rooms where DJ’s are performing including the main stage area with hundreds of people on the dance floor, this venue is in a class of it’s own compared to other electronic/dance venues in Southern California.

Interviewing Treasure Fingers, we learned how he was a drummer before becoming a DJ and how he got noticed by and is releasing records with Fools Gold and Defected. Understanding that his variety of influences has helped craft his musical styles helped give me a greater appreciation for the Atlanta DJ.

After we finished interviewing Treasure Fingers, we headed to the main dance floor to enjoy his set which started close to 2am and lasted until close to 4am. The crowd was feeling it, with a fairly full dance-floor and enthusiastic dancing throng of people through most of his 2-hour set.

Overall Treasure Fingers was very enjoyable with some of the best disco-house tunes I have ever heard live! While it’s tough to single out certain songs during his continuously awesome set, my favorite was his remix to “Feelings For You” by Avicii and Sebastien Drums. When that came on around 3:30, I immediately moved closer to the stage and knew Treasure Fingers is the real deal and why Fool’s Gold took the Atlanta DJ into their family.

Below is Treasure Fingers “Feelings For You” remix and his 30-minute “Avalon Mix” which was made exlucisvely for Club Avalon to give their fans before his show last Friday.
