Hi-Rez – A Walk to Remember (Mixtape)

September 26th, 2011 by | Album/Mixtape/EP Review, Hip-Hop/Rap, Mixtape Monday |

Hi Rez A Walk to Remember (Mixtape)Hi-Rez dropped an INCREDIBLE new mixtape recently. On first listen, I’ve already fallen in love, incredible beats, with some great lyricism and smooth verses. An all around great project from the 17 year old rapper from the Sunshine State.

I would reccommend listening to “Puppy Love” and “It Was Never Easy” (my personal favorites). Pay attention to all the samples throughout this mixtape, some pretty interesting stuff.

Hidden Gem: Guy Harrison *quality lyricism hip-hop

August 10th, 2011 by | Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Hidden Gem: Guy Harrison *quality lyricism hip hopSyracuse University student and rapper Guy Harrison has serious talent. Not only a rising musician in the hip-hop game but also has his own hip-hop collective, The Backhand Fam, where he produces, raps and is featured on other quality hip-hop tracks. In late July, he released Train of Thought (DOWNLOAD), which has several songs I really enjoy, all with dope sample from Guy’s production team of TyCo and mattMiGGZ. Below are my four favorites from his Guy Harrison’s third solo mixtape.
Download: Guy Harrison – Had It All ft Hi-Rez (Prod By TyCo) (Adele sample)
Download: Guy Harrison – Solo Dolo Doe (Prod By TyCo) (Kid Cudi sample)
Download: Guy Harrison – Money (Prod. By mattMiGGZ) (Cage The Elephant sample)

Download: Guy Harrison – Have A Heart ft. Wes (prod. by TyCo)

Want more from Guy Harrison? After the jump, check out a older song him called “Garden State Raised”, produced by MiGGZ.

Hi-Rez – Walk With You (Ft. David Minsky)

Hi-Rez just dropped a new single called “Rock with You” featuring singer David Minsky adding some flavor. The track has an upbeat party vibe and is definitely perfect timing for the summer. The beat is hot and Rez kills it as usual. I like that Rez brings a unique style being from South Florida, a place not thought of as a hip-hop hotspot. He has a more chilled out, party vibe reflective of his home town. Download “Rock with You” below:

Follow Hi-Rez on Facebook and Twitter. You’ll see that this dude is building quite the movement.

 Hi Rez Gettin Started (Video)

Young rapper Hi-Rez out of South Florida is seriously on his grind, dropping some visuals to “Gettin’ Started” off his Early Release mixtape. The track, produced by E.Dan of renowned production duo ID Labs, is a serious anthem and goes hard, even though the kid is from the tropical paradise of South Florida. Hi-Rez has serious lyricism, a unique style, and a sick video that you can watch below:

Hi-Rez – Early Release (Mixtape)

May 27th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Hi Rez Early Release front large Hi Rez Early Release (Mixtape)I may be partial to Hi-Rez because he’s one of very few rappers coming out of South Florida, where I’m originally from. However, his latest mixtape, Early Release is definitely a must listen. Hi-Rez is a 17 year old white kid from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, but he can spit for sure.

He’s still young, but his style is reminiscent of an early Mac Miller, which is definitely a good sign. The songs throughout Early Release are mainly more chilled out, but he goes hard on a few songs. Hi-Rez doesn’t make any false claims of tons of money, hoes, and stuff like that. He lets his rapping do the talking. Check out some favorites below:

The City Ft. Triple J (Prod Ante)

Headed To The Top (Prod. By Alex Kresovich)

This kid is definitely a major up-and-comer, and will surely be doing big things in the near future. Follow him on Twitter and download Early Release here.

Rapping about Arizona Iced Tea

November 19th, 2010 by | Music Video |

Florida rapper Hi-Rez does a song about Arizona Iced Tea. It’s actually a good track with solid flow and a really good beat. Download

I hope Hi-Rez was talking about an Arnold Palmer iced tea, that’s the best. Follow him on twitter and find out.
