Georgia Ellyse ft. Salimah – “Superhero”

artworks 000020626721 kbtrmh original 600x600 Georgia Ellyse ft. Salimah SuperheroGeorgia Ellyse reminds me of a mixture of Nicki Minaj and Mary J. Blige, sound weird, but that’s what I think. Georgia’s new video for her track “Superhero” featuring Salimah is really good, but surprisingly has more dislikes then likes. Let’s change that by watching her video and tweeting this blog post!

Snoop Dogg saturday

snoop dogg Quart 2 198038g 600x450 Snoop Dogg saturdaySit back and relax to some Snoop Dogg. I was looking at my blog about playlist and noticed I got 3 Snoop Dogg songs I havent posted yet so figured today’s a good day to chill to some Snoop Dogg music.

First a hip-hop/R&B song featuring Wiz Khalifa, “This Weed Iz Mine”. It has a retro old-school cool beat, dope flow, plus getting Wiz on the track doesn’t hurt.
Snoop Dogg – This Weed Iz Mine f. Wiz Khalifa
Next we have a muhc more R&B track with “Choose”, another old school beat, similar chill flow.
Snoop Dogg – Choose
Lastly, “Gangbang Rookie” ft. Pilot is a bit different, chill beat, but the instrumentals are nice with the piano being used, girls chanting out “Snoop”, probably the chillest rapper in the game goes to Snoop Dogg.

Top soundcloud submissions

February 11th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Dance, Electropop, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, R&B, Remix, Soundcloud's Best |

100111070054600 soundcloud Top soundcloud submissionsArtists send us your tracks to our soundcloud, because I listen to all the submissions and most of the time provide some feedback. The five songs below are my favorite submissions we have gotten in the last month:

First song is by Stevie Grant and it’s called “FLY”. The rapping is so-so, the instrumentals are good but really my favorite part is when the piano comes in with Rihanna’s voice. I was on the fence about posting this but the last minute of the song changed my mind.

Next song is by Chicago MC K. Vincent called “Ain’t A Thing Change” which I like mostly because of the instrumentals and lyrics. Keep an eye out on K. Vincent.

Next we got HOVAT with “Let Them Die” which is a triple remix similar to the latest iSH song, “Let Them“. This has a good party flow to it, the hook by jj is dope and overall HOVAT makes this his own for a good catchy alternative hip-hop song. If you like this song, go download HOVAT’s latest mixtape, Out of Nowhere, which has a lot of non hip-hop samples. I would call HOVAT a poor-man’s Hoodie Allen at this point.

LectroLips are an electro-pop duo that sent us “What We Came For” which has interesting instrumentals and synthed up vocals. If your a fan of electro-pop then take a listen.

Lastly, the Electronic Pop Hop jam, “Ekkies in my pocket” by AlteRego & Baldylox. I hadn’t heard of them before.

Hidden Gem: Phil Ade *Miss Temptation x Break Me Off

January 28th, 2011 by | Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

phil ade Hidden Gem: Phil Ade *Miss Temptation x Break Me OffI have had mixed feelings about Phil Ade’s music. Some songs I really like and other’s I don’t care for too much. Recently the DMV-area MC put out a couple dope tracks that really show his potential, plus the production behind it is great.

“Miss Temptation” is produced by Sunny Norway has a more chill feel, vocals kind of remind me of Kanye West, especially what Phil Ade does on the hook.

Phil Ade – Miss Temptation Prod. by (Sunny Norway)

“Break Me Off” is produced by BrandUn Deshay, who is like Big K.R.I.T. in that he’s a good rapper and a great producer. Love the instrumentals and the rapping on this.

Phil Ade – Break Me Off (Prod. By BrandUn Deshay)

Check out Phil’s last mixtape, The Letterman (Download), which was mixed by Don Cannon. Here’s my favorite track off it.

Wale – Let’s Chill x I Don’t Know

January 23rd, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, R&B, Rock |

Above is a video of J. Cole and Wale freestyling at a Denny’s in Illinois. I think Wale won.

Below is two dope songs from Wale came out within the last few weeks that I had to post. “Let’s Chill” ft. Lloyd is a more R&B type song with a very good beat, dope rapping from Wale and good vocals from Lloyd.

Wale – Let’s Chill (Ft. Lloyd)

“I Don’t Know” has a dope rock instrumental, superb rapping from Wale and Apollo The Great. I like this track a little more than “Let’s Chill” but I prefer those rap/rock combo’s.

Featuring B.o.B *new J. Cole & The Script

January 23rd, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, R&B, Remix |

BoB keyboards Featuring B.o.B *new J. Cole & The ScriptWhenever B.o.B is on a song, he kills it and turns the song into gold. Ok maybe that’s an overstatement but Bobby Ray is a talented hip-hop/R&B artist that, when featured on a song, usually makes the song better.

Below are three examples.
The Script – Walk Away Remix Ft B.o.B (right-click to download)
Passing Me By (ft. B.o.B.) – J. Cole
Lloyd Ft. B.o.B & Rock City – Lay It Down (Remix)

If your a big fan of The Script, their latest album, Science & Faith, came out last tuesday and is available on iTunes.
