April 3rd, 2014 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video, Pop |

Why has my favorite new hip-hop been coming out of Canada? With the latest video from Zoo Legacy to everything Drake puts out to always remembering who the most underrated hip-hop artist of all time is, K-Os, Canada has been balling more in the hip-hop department than America, step up Patriots!

Here’s the latest hip-pop video from iSH which sounds like a radio hit if more well known artists were attached to this production. Watch the video to “Light Up” featuring Daniel Richter below. (more…)

Video: Chance Waters ft. The Griswolds – Bonnie *indie hip-pop

April 1st, 2014 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video, Pop |

Not sure how to categorize this song but I think it has this hip indie pop-rock feel that is very fun from some awesome Australian musicians in MC Chance Waters and infectious pop-rock band The Griswolds, my favorite emerging pop-rock band in Australia and maybe worldwide!

The video is the perfect companion piece to the multi-talented Chance Waters‘ “Bonnie,” the MC’s collaboration with Sydney indie-poppers The Griswolds. The song blurs lines with pop hooks, harmonies, swathes of live instrumentation and world class production from Adelaide producer One Above (Hilltop Hoods). You can hear elements of Lily Allen crossed with Macklemore, crossed with the jubilation of such modern pop upstarts as Capital Cities.

Watch “Bonnie” below and start singing along to the catchy chorus. Do me a favor and comment below if you know anybody named Bonnie and who is younger than 30 years old. (more…)

Download: Hoodie Allen – Feel The Love

August 27th, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

New FREE track from Hoodie Allen called “Feel The Love”, here’s what he had to say about it.

Like a lot of my fans, I am always searching for new artists and new music that excites me. On past mixtapes, I’ve been very influenced by the indie and pop music I’ve discovered online and it has led to me putting my own creative flip on a lot of tracks and making it my own. When I was in London in May, I heard this amazing track by Rudimental called “Feel The Love” which was hugely popular there but seemed to be pretty unknown in the states.

With the help of my longtime producer RJF, I bring you “Feel The Love” giving my fans the classic upbeat indie hop vibes they’ve come to love. “Feel The Love” is very much a thank you to all the fans and sites for all the great things they have helped us achieve in the past year. It’s a perfect track to mark the end of summer!

Listen and download “Feel The Love” below, which samples Rudimental‘s “Feel The Love”.

July 24th, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Eddy B & Tim Gunter continually release catchy hip-pop tracks that more people need to listen to. With “Time Bomb”, they put together another catchy fun track that is a MUST-DOWNLOAD!

Here’s some words from management:

Both of the guys have been in the studio nonstop this summer trying to perfect their sound. Tim’s original production coupled with Eddy’s lyrical flow show continued growth and improvement for the North Carolina Duo. Be on the look for their newest EP, sometime this fall during the start of their senior years at UNC and NC State. The song articulates the reality of the upcoming dive they must face as they continue building on their dream of becoming professional musicians.

The last North Carolina student-musician we were behind was Mike Posner, a Duke University alum. Look how Posner’s turned out and then listen to Eddy B & Tim Gunter and we can all predict/hope where we see this hip-pop duo going.

Sorry to rant but when will record labels hear their feel-good hip-pop vibe sound and give these guys a record deal? Here’s more about the song “Crickets”, which has a real interesting concept behind it. (more…)
