The Verbal Surgeon is coming out of Western Massachusetts and brings us the old school feel that we really dig. Here’s our latest interview with up-and-coming DJ/producer duo Electric Drip. These guys are probably the nicest dudes in the EDM movement and are going to be mainstream DJs touring the globe before you can say, “SpottieOttieDopaliscious“.

We got a sick Before Bigs exclusive for you today! While I was in South Florida, I had the opportunity to catch Rel. B live and spoke with his manager about doing some exclusive work. A week later, I met up on the set for the shooting of his music video for “Picture Perfect“, his manager shot the behind the scenes footage of the music video and was able to have me interview Rel. B about the song, his music and his future in the rap game. By the way, I’m loving the shout out at the end of the video!
Listen to his hit single “Picture Perfect” (DOWNLOAD) below.
A few weeks ago, I did a phone interview with Jamie and Robert of electornic/dance/pop duo DWNTWN, an up-and-coming Los Angeles band that will be mainstream before you can say “Spottieottiedopalicious”.
Find out how they became DWNTWN, their night at the gay club in Utah and the unique word they use to describe their music! Read the interview below. (more…)
Hey guys, I know it’s been a while but I have a treat for you here. 10 days ago, Shwayze & Cisco rolled through my hometown of Fort Collins, CO. The whole family over at BananaBeat Records was super chill, and gave me an hour or so to come kick it and ask them a few questions. We even test drove a new game they showed me, ‘Bust-a-Rhyme’ (shown in video).
The show was incredible. With support from G-Eazy, ModSun, & Cobraconda it would have been tough not to enjoy this show. Whether you’ve been sipping a corona & lime to Buzzin’ for years or Island in the Sun is your first tango, this show was for you. Shwayze & Cisco played a perfect blend of old and new material. Some songs with the both of them on the mic, some with Cisco on guitar, and some even with the treat of Goodfeather blowing horns in the back.
There was no better way to spend a Wednesday night. Much love to the family over at BananaBeat Records.
In May, I had the opportunity to sit down with DMV-area rapper Young Prince while he was in Los Angeles promoting his music.
Young Prince talked about his upcoming mixtape, The Reverse Effect, his upcoming album that he’s currently working on, D.A.D., and gave me a little better idea of who Young Prince is and what he’s all about. When asked how best to describe his music, Beau Young said, “Like the first time Marvin Gaye hit a jay”.
Young Prince was nice enough to do a 1-minute acapella freestyle. If you are interested in just watching that, skip to 3:40 in the video.
Here’s a couple songs off The Reverse Effect, dropping tomorrow. After speaking to Beau about this project and hearing the songs he has released off it, I truly believe this to be his real breakout project.
Ground Up just dropped the visuals for”Nonsense”, off their recent mixtape Up Late, and they are appropriate for 4/20. It is a simple music video of their everyday lives of them just kickin’ it. Just to let everyone know, Up Late will be re-released on itunes soon without the Don Cannon shout outs. We will keep you posted on that. In the meantime enjoy!
Also be sure to check out my Before the Bigs Radio interview with Malakai of Ground Up where we discuss Up Late, among other things going on with the group currently:
