Kyle Bent – “Hurry Up”

June 12th, 2012 by | Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Kyle Bent is the definition of youngin on his grind. At the young age of 14, the high school freshman already has the skills of a veteran. Kyle Bent was born in Jamaica and later moved out to  Randolph MA, a suburb of Boston. The young emcee not only has some unbelievable talent but a fan base to support him. At first listen I was blown away, it’s kids like Kyle Bent  that keep the good name of Hip-hop alive.

Kyle  recently released his newest mixtape entitled “The Catalyst” which can be found on here) Kyle Bent also released visuals for his latest single “Hurry Up”. With Producerboyz producing the track and HLRboston making the visuals, you truly can’t go wrong. This kid definitely has a bright future ahead of him. Make sure to “like” his Facebook page and download “The Catalyst”.

Acmatic – Ok

August 4th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Last we heard from Acmatic, we put their song “Silver Nimbus” on our last edition of BYNH. About a few weeks ago they dropped “Ok”, a chill hip-hop song with dope Summer relaxing instrumentals. Shouts to MJF for letting me know the song samples Dexter Wansel’s “Theme from the planets.” Acmatic is dropping a mixtape soon but until then, listen and download “Ok”.

I don’t know much about Acmatic except they got a dope song called “Silver Nimbus”. I love how fast paced this alternative/hip-hop song is, the singing is dope, the rapping is dope, the instrumentals are super amazing dope. Best you never heard?
Acmatic – Silver Nimbus
“Silver Nimbus” is the lead single off the Jamaican group Acmatic’s debut album, Sundial, which came out in Fall 2009 but sounds fresh and new to me. I was just told they are currently shooting a music video for this song, which is a great idea. Shouts to MJF on the find. Follow on: facebook / twitter

Concert Review: Jimmy Cliff at Reggae Fest 8/14/10

August 26th, 2010 by | Before Bigs Exclusive, Miscellaneous, Pop |

This is kind of late but on Saturday August 14, I went to see the horse races at Del Mar Race Track and was fortunate enough to see Jimmy Cliff perform after the races for the Reggae Fest they held that night at the Fairgrounds. I recorded the video above, I know not the best quality, that’s why I put another video below that gives you a better idea of Jimmy Cliff.

Jimmy Cliff is currently the only living musician to receive the Order of Merit, the highest honor granted by the Jamaican government for achievement in the arts and sciences, and Cliff was one of five inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

He performed all of his classic songs including “I Can See Clearly Now”, “The Harder They Come” and “You Can Get It If You Really Want” as well as some of his other hits. I enjoyed most of his music very that day and filmed most of his songs but uploaded my favorite by him.

Below enjoy the official music video to “The Harder They Come” one of my other favorites by him. Enjoy!
