artworks 000023360981 7zbjmm original 600x600 Jhameel Are You Free *must download indie pop!I’m really excited to let you know that Jhameel has just released the title track from his new music series Are You Free.  Are You Free will be released in the same groundbreaking manner as Waves (one new single per week for five weeks), while taking his indie-pop sound in a more mature and anthemic direction.

“Are You Free” is an atomic release of fiery emotions, thrown over a distorted, groovy beat. Bolstered by Jhameel‘s sweeping pop-infused vocals, the track hits hard musically and lyrically. Listen and download “Are You Free” below.

artworks 000014051306 4qqedj original 600x600 Video: Jhameel White LieThe smooth alternative pop singer Jhameel is back with another video. It’s a must-watch if you dig pop and are looking for an artist that has potential to become a huge act.

Shouts to co-director of the video for “White Lie”, Ryan Rubin, for always reaching out with new Jhameel material.

“White Lie” captures Jhameel’s struggle to break off a relationship with a woman that he still cares for.  The video has got plenty of Jhameel’s signature dance moves, as well as a solid story line which rewards attention. Watch the video below.

jhameel 600x387 Video: Jhameel Waves x Shut Up *The next MJ?Mark my words: Jhameel‘s impact to the music industry will be similar to Jeremy Lin‘s impact to the NBA. Is that racist? Please comment below.

I’m a huge fan of Jhameel; I think he’s the Asian Michael Jackson and apparently 35+ other people agreed by my comment.

Waves S Jhameel Waves *title track from Waves seriesThird week of the Waves series has Jhameel releasing the title track to this weekly music series, “Waves”. BRyan the bass player of Jhameel said, “I feel that this song has a soft, warm vibe that drifts into almost nihilistic territory lyrically, but it’s all positive in the end.  Despite touching on the idea that everything that comes will eventually go, it feels satisfied and happy to me.” Here’s the three songs released from the Waves series so far.

Jhameel, Weapons of Audio, and Jesse Palter and the Alter Ego at The Viper Room

Last Wednesday, The Viper Room featured 3 awesome music up-and-comers. The night started with Jhameel, an indie-rock group with a very unique sound.

Second came my boys Weapons of Audio. This was only their second full show in LA but once again they killed it and showed how talented they truly are. Their classic rock mixed with hip-hop sound is exactly the type of feel good music that any music fan loves to hear.

Finally, to end the night came Jesse Palter and the Alter Ego. Jesse is a very talented female singer who will certainly make it big soon.

I was extremely grateful to see these three acts kill it on stage and look forward to more shows by them in the near future. Enjoy my three favorite tracks by these groups.

After three successful Best You Never Heard mixtape’s, we decided to continue displaying versatility in the type of songs selected for this mixtape series, with a little bit of everything to fill your ears.

Some guidelines we stuck by included choosing artists that, as of today, have less than 10,000 fans on facebook or twitter. We are proud to say many of the songs below cannot be defined by a single genre. The songs below we believe stand out from the other up-and-coming artists out there and display a unique sound that shows their true potential.

Below is the 22-track playlist to listen to and links to download Best You Never Heard 4.

Hidden Gem: Jhameel *Indie-Pop

September 12th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Hidden Gem, Pop |

Hidden Gem: Jhameel *Indie PopJhameel is an up-and-coming indie pop artist out of San Francisco. Here’s what his manager wrote to us:

Jhameel creates passionate music that stands out, leading with powerfully sung, soulful melodies which are backed by instrumentation inspired by truly eclectic sources (Prince, MGMT).  It’s the kind of genre defying modern music that is perfect for Before the Bigs. Not to mention, he plays every single instrument on his records himself!

Here’s my four most recent favorites from Jhameel.
