Review: Kosha Dillz and Dean Risko at Los Globos

March 7th, 2014 by | Concert/Festival Review, Hip-Hop/Rap |

First time going to Los Globos, not the greatest venue but the hip-hop acts I saw, Kosha Dillz and Dean Risko, were pretty dope, especially Dean Risko who stole the show as the little-known headliner that you all should be aware of! Read my review of last Tuesday’s show below.  (more…)

Video: Kosha Dillz – Where My Homies Be ft Gangsta Boo and Murs

December 18th, 2013 by | Album/Mixtape/EP Review, Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

My favorite Jewish rapper, Kosha Dillz, released a trippy alternative hip-hop music video several weeks ago and after watching it a couple times, I’m a big fan!

The spontaneous and eclectic Kosha Dillz has no borders when it comes to his music and “Where My Homies Be” is proof of his always appealing nature. Equipped with stimulating visuals full of kaleidoscope’esque images akin to an acid trip, courtesy of Director Robbie Barclay, the video will definitely leave a lasting impression on the listener. Adding Gangsta Boo & Murs to the equation only adds to the insanity on the track, as each emcee is able to effortlessly flow over Belief’s infectious instrumental. “Where My Homies Be” is featured on Kosha Dillz’ sophomore album Awkward In a Good Way, which is now available on iTunes and you can stream below. Video: Kosha Dillz – Hangin Out

February 24th, 2013 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Kosha Dillz recently dropped a fun new music video directed by Ricky Shabazz called “Hangin Out”. It’s a chill hip-hop track that everybody can sing along to as Kosha spits about something we all love doing, simply hanging out.

From mobbing out in Koreatown to Froyo, Hollywood Blvd. and Jewish delis, the self proclaimed Dillzionaire parades through Los Angeles all while hanging out with a mob of fans, friends and cameos that include Laker Girls and many more. The ode to kicking it comes from his forthcoming untitled record (or possibly series of EPs) that also features tracks with Gangsta Boo, Murs, Big Pooh, Wax and more.

Download: Kosha Dillz – Munich 72

August 17th, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Kosha Dillz & Shemspeed release Munich 72, a new free download, dedicated to 11 Israeli athletes murdered at the 1972 Olympics.

Every four years athletes and audiences from around the globe come together to celebrate and compete in the international sporting event – The Olympics. In 1972, just forty years ago, the Olympic games were unfortunately the target of a terrorist attack in Munich Germany, when Black September, a Palestinian terrorist group, snuck into the Olympic village and kidnapped and killed 11 Israeli Athletes. Later that same year, Operation Wrath of God commenced – a strategic mission that unleashed attacks in retaliation to Black September’s actions and resulted in the death of the terrorists involved in the Munich massacre..

At this year’s Olympic games in London the IOC denied a moment of silence in the opening ceremony for the 11 Israelis that were killed in Germany. The absence of any acknowledgment of the Munich massacre became the source of much discontent in the Jewish community and Jewish American gold medalist Aly Raisman even spoke out against the failure to acknowledge the 11 Israeli victims.

Kosha Dillz, an American Israeli rapper, penned the song “Munich 72” to not only remember the fallen athletes of Israel, but also illustrate a detailed description of how each terrorist was murdered. “Munich 72” is intended to call attention to the evil deeds committed so that such an act of hatred may never happen again at an event celebrating world peace and healthy competition.

Listen and download below.

Kosha Dillz is performing with RZA tomorrow at the Sunset Strip Music Festival after standout performances with the Wu-Tang Clan member in Chicago and Matisyahu in Des Moines last week. RZA and Kosha go on at 9pm, get tickets to the diverse yet expensive West Hollywood music festival here.

Download: Kosha Dillz – Residual Reunion ft Ducky (Little Dragon fighter)

March 25th, 2012 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Kosha Dillz links up with Ducky for his take on “Ritual Union” from Little Dragon in hip hop form. This is part of the Jet Lag EP. Beat provided by Nate G.

“Ritual Union” is my favorite Little Dragon song and Kosha Dillz is my one of my favorite white rappers so this song by Kosha is a new favorite of mine with his rapid-fire flow over the sick indie instrumentals.

Hidden Gem: Kosha Dillz *indie rap

January 30th, 2012 by | Alternative/Indie, Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Kosha Dillz will probably go down as one of the most famous jewish rappers of the 21st century. After seeing him live for the 2nd time in late 2011, I became a big fan as he’s a crowd pleaser and really a talented MC.

Recently he’s been doing lots of shows, putting out new tracks over once a month and killing the hip-hop game with press all over. Here’s my three recent favorites from the Jewish rapper from New Jersey.

Follow Kosha Dillz on facebook and twitter.
