October 5th, 2011 by | Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Remix |

For a real interesting remix that mixes dubstep with drum & bass, check out Skywalkerr‘s drumstep remix to the future 1-hit wonder’s single, “Gucci Gucci”. Here’s a little bio on Skywalkerr:

James Burnell Aka Skywalkerr previously from Boulder, CO but has now relocated back to Santa Barbara, CA. Just recently released the first Kreayshawn – Gucci Gucci Remix, and had his first sold out show wtih Minnesota @ the fox theatre in Boulder, CO.

Covers *Cris Cab, Neon Hitch, PJ Simas, Tokyo Police Club, Weezer

September 19th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Chill/Jam/Reggae, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, Rock |

Five new covers from artists ranging from Reggae to rock and much of what’s in between.

First we go with Cris Cab‘s reggae/jam cover to Foster The People‘s “Pumped Up Kicks”. I like how the chill vibes and overall Cris Cab gives it a new sound which is refreshing since the only thing I hear with “Pumped Up Kicks” these days is remixes and the song being played all over the radio. Watch the music video here.

Cris Cab – Pumped Up Kicks

I got mixed reactions when I played this to the Weapons of Audio fam recently. However it’s kind of catchy, the ginger is interesting but overall some of you might be passing on this shit. However, Neon Hitch‘s vocals are all over the place, slows the song up and takes out the dubstep. The song is more minimalistic than the original, the lyrics sound even more dumb and after writing a few sentences on this cover, I may be less a fan. Watch the music video for the cover, it makes it better.

Neon Hitch – Gucci Gucci

PJ Simas is killing it among the white boy acoustic guitar rappers. If you can’t think of any others in that category, trust me when I say PJ Simas is talented and might be a better producer than performer. However he puts an acoustic chilled out version of Mac Miller‘s “Frick Park Market” which is real nice to relax to.

PJ Simas – Frick Park Market

I’m a fan of Tokyo Police Club so when I saw this LCD Soundsystem cover they did, I immediately became a fan. It picks up real nicely and since LCD isn’t releasing new music, this is refreshing. Really liking the alternative & punk vibe.

Tokyo Police Club – All My Friends

Lastly comes a cover by one of my all-time favorite rock bands, Weezer. They cover The Band‘s “The Weight”, one of the best classic rock songs of all-time. “The Weight” is also one of those songs that seems really easy to sing when your drunk but it’s not, trust me, I have tried to sing the lyrics to this song drunk but stumbled in so many ways.

Los – Gucci Gucci Freestyle

August 19th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Everyone from Lil Wayne to Meek Mill is doing their best freestyle on Kreayshawn‘s “Gucci Gucci.” Los stands out with this one name-dropping every chick in the game (one big room full of bad bitches). He does it all effortlessly without ever breaking his flow. Then he one’s up that verse with punchlines like “we beef over that cheese, you gon think I’m makin lasagna.” Los is a real threat in the punchline game. Look out for him on future mixtapes.

Kreayshawn – “Gucci Gucci” (K.Flay Remix)

June 5th, 2011 by | Dance, Dubstep, Hip-Hop/Rap, Remix |

My two favorite white female rappers are K.Flay and Kreayshawn. So when I saw on rcrdlbl that K.Flay remixed Kreayshawn‘s “Gucci Gucci“, adding some upbeat dubstep, I was super pumped! If you like the original, good chance you will really like this. If you didn’t like the original, then at least take a listen because it’s a pretty legit remix.

DJ Fergie Ferg – Look at Gucci Now (Kreayshawn vs Chris Brown)

June 3rd, 2011 by | Dance, Mashup |

Bump this on your fun-filled Friday night! DJ Fergie Ferg gives us maybe the 1st mashup featuring Kreayshawn‘s viral hit, “Gucci Gucci”. While the song mostly has “Gucci Gucci” on it, Chris Brown‘s “Look At Me Now” instrumentals are a nice addition to the electronic-influences in the song’s dope production. Hidden Gem: Kreayshawn

May 24th, 2011 by | Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

You rarely see white girls rapping. However, that could soon change because Oakland based rapper Kreayshawn, will help bring in a whole slew of white female rappers. She has a very bizarre style but in a good way. She is like Nicki Minaj  and Ke$ha (if she rapped). She acts all hardcore and hood and her unique approach to hip-hop will give her lots of success in the music industry in the near future. Words cannot even explain this insane woman. She clearly had some daddy issues growing up. Watch a couple music videos and download our favorite Kreayshawn songs after the jump. (more…)
