Kinetics & One Love – Cross-Fading Back To Normal *remix/mashup project

May 8th, 2012 by | Album/Mixtape/EP Review, Hip-Hop/Rap, Mashup, Remix |

What do you get when you mix songs off Kinetics & One Love‘s 2009 album, Fading Back to Normal, with hits like Kanye’s “Runaway” and M83’s “Midnight City”? A sick explosion of the hottest pop and hip hop tunes mixed with the gritty rap that is K&OL’s trademark.

Cross-fading Back To Normal is the epic remix project K&OL have just completed and lemme tell you, each mash-up/remix is a total eargasm.

My favorite song is Track 9 off Cross-fading, a mash-up of “Midnight City” with K&OL’s “Dazed and Confused”.

The Knocks – Midnight City ft. Mandy Lee (M83 Cover) *Video+mp3

February 7th, 2012 by | Electropop, Music Video |

So here’s an interesting cover from one of my favorite music duos, The Knocks. They cover M83‘s hit song “Midnight City”  and get Mandy Lee on some vocals. I’m not sure if I like the vocals on this song but I really dig the production as it doesn’t sound so electronic and is more natural with the piano’s influence in the song.

Update: The Knocks just dropped the music video to their cover of “Midnight City”. Watch it below!

Music. Fashion. Collaboration. The Future of NOW.

So I decided to create a rather unconventional music post today. Get ready to be INSPIRED.

I’ve recently helped some friends of mine launch a clothing line called the  ADAMO Collection. The whole idea behind this company is to provide a platform for rebelliously creative young people to pursue their passions, collaborate with each other, and express themselves freely. As a forward thinking company centered on passion and creativity, we look forward to working with bands, DJs, music blogs, etc!

Needless to say, launching a clothing line sure isn’t easy and 18 hour workdays are not unheard of. In order to stay sane and keep inspiration flowing, we blast music on our sick sound system 24/7. I thought it’d be neat to share some of these tunes with you guys and so I’ve compiled a playlist of some of our most listened to tracks on spotify. I’ve included everything from electronica/dubstep artists like Pendulum, Doctor P, Flux Pavilion, Emancipator, The Glitch Mob, Benny Benassi, and Steve Aoki, to more indie/alternative tracks from bands like The Naked and Famous, The Civil Wars, and M83. I also threw in some Tinie Tempah, Coldplay, and Claude Debussy. I think my favorite track has gotta be Pendulum’s The Island ( Dusk til Dawn remix). SOOO GOOD. With another great episode of How To Make It In America passes, more great music comes our way that was featured on the episode. Not only does each episode get better and better as the season progresses but so does the music. I’ve discovered way more talented artists and bands than before thanks to Scott Vener. Anyway, below are my favorite tracks from Episode 5.

The White Panda – Mo Free Mo Fallin’ x Midnight Life

September 28th, 2011 by | Mashup |

The White Panda does it again, combining two classic songs from two different genres. All-time rap great Biggie Smalls‘ with all-time classic rock great Tom Petty. B.I.G’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” is meshed perfectly with Petty’s “Free Fallin” by The White Panda to create a great mashup.

About a couple weeks back, The White Panda released “Midnight Life”, Kanye West T-Pain‘s “The Good Life” on vocals with M83‘s “Midnight City” on instrumentals.
