Video: Macklemore X Ryan Lewis – Victory Lap *uplifting rap

April 10th, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

There’s something about Macklemore that incites deep feelings in us all. It’s hard to describe but somehow we can all relate to Macklemore‘s music in the end and everything about what he says just feels real.

Many rappers talk about all the bling, girls and drugs they do. Macklemore‘s content is not uplifting for just himself like much of rap out there, but Macklemore‘s lyricism is uplifting to us all. In “Victory Lap” this is most apparent as the Seattle MC puts out a video that shows many of his performances, where big and small, he continually brings the same all-star energy that makes him one of the best up-and-coming rappers in the game.

Macklemore – Make The Money (prod. by Ryan Lewis)

September 21st, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Another day, another Macklemore track. “Make the Money” is a all around great track with a theme of not letting money get to you, some seriously good production from Ryan Lewis, as always. Mack gets on and does his thing. To me, Macklemore has one of the most relaxing and soothing voices in hip-hop. And sometimes it contradicts his words, filled with stories of a rough life. He raps about things ordinary people can relate to, which is one of the reasons he has such a large following.

Listen to the song, and if you like it, support Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and buy it on iTunes.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – “Can’t Hold Us” (featuring Ray Dalton)

August 16th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

This has already hit the radio but the official studio version of “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore (featuring Ray Dalton) has become available to the world and it is straight fire. This Seattle native has really grown and matured as a rapper with each new track that releases. He makes a great team with producer Ryan Lewis, who also created the instrumentals for this track as well. Ray Dalton has great vocals that are electrifying. These guys are going places. Enjoy!

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Wings + Irish Celebration music video

January 21st, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Macklmore & Ryan Lewis have had quite an active start to 2011, and it’s not even the end of January yet. After the success of “My Oh My” and it’s music video, the hip-hop duo released their music video for “Irish Celebration” (video below) and have now released another new track called “Wings”.

“Wings” portrays their love for Nike sneakers in which Macklemore raps over inspirational instrumentals by Ryan Lewis about why he loves the shoe so much and how he feels “Like Mike” when he wears them. Enjoy!

A few weeks back, I gave you all Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ newest track “My Oh My” which is a hip-hop track about growing up in Seattle and following the beloved Seattle Mariners. Now I bring you the official music video and it’s a good one. I love this track because I am a huge baseball fan and I love it when artists mix sports in with their music to create a great sound. This music video is great because it shows a lot of historic Seattle Mariners highlights from the 1990’s (the glory days) with Griffey at his best. Enjoy!

There is no question that rapper Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis both from Seattle, Washington are very passionate about their city. So it was not a surprise to me to hear their newest track “My Oh My”, which is a tribute to legendary Seattle Mariners announcer, Dave Niehaus, who died last month. I especially loved this song  because I am a huge baseball fan and love when a talented rapper like Macklemore raps about his favorite team. Enjoy!

Zion I – Polarity ft. Macklemore & Locksmith

November 7th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Zion I are arguably one of the best rap groups to ever hail from the Bay Area. They’ve been making hits for many years and have a new project coming Nov. 9th called Atomic Clock. Polarity is a sick song with a hard beat and classic Zion verses.

Macklemore X Ryan Lewis – VS. (Redux) EP

November 4th, 2010 by | Album/Mixtape/EP Review, Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap |

This MC/producer duo from Seattle released a successful project with VS. last year so they decided to  add on more tracks with the Redux. This includes remixes with guests such as  Jake One, Fences, Sabzi (of Blue Scholars) and more.

Hidden Gem: Macklemore

September 29th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Check these guys out from Seattle. Macklemore is the rapper, Ryan Lewis is the producer, and together they are a dynamic duo. Macklemore’s lyrics and flow are solid. Otherside, their best song in my opinion is off of their The Vs. EP. Download
