Kyle Bent – “Hurry Up”

June 12th, 2012 by | Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Kyle Bent 600x480 Kyle Bent Hurry Up

Kyle Bent is the definition of youngin on his grind. At the young age of 14, the high school freshman already has the skills of a veteran. Kyle Bent was born in Jamaica and later moved out to  Randolph MA, a suburb of Boston. The young emcee not only has some unbelievable talent but a fan base to support him. At first listen I was blown away, it’s kids like Kyle Bent  that keep the good name of Hip-hop alive.

Kyle  recently released his newest mixtape entitled “The Catalyst” which can be found on Datpiff.com.(Download here) Kyle Bent also released visuals for his latest single “Hurry Up”. With Producerboyz producing the track and HLRboston making the visuals, you truly can’t go wrong. This kid definitely has a bright future ahead of him. Make sure to “like” his Facebook page and download “The Catalyst”.

Ground Up The Get Up front large Mixtape: Ground Up The Get Up

It’s finally here! The much anticipated new mixtape The Get Up from Philly hip-hop duo Ground Up dropped earlier this week and I am impressed. I’ve continually endorsed them from the beginning and they improve with each new track and project they drop. Every single track is fire! The rapping is amazing over some incredible beats from a slew of great producers. The songs on the tape range from an old school and new school hip-hop feel, making the entire thing a joy to listen to. My favorite tracks off the tape are below. Enjoy!

artworks 000018343570 82gv67 original 600x600 Paz Young Broke & Fameless 2 (mixtape)A couple weeks ago, Paz released his follow up to Young Broke & Fameless with Young Broke & Fameless 2 (download). I believe it’s a must-listen tape if you like songs that mix elements of hip-hop with pop. I would put Paz in an acoustic hip-pop category, which isn’t occupied by many other artists as Paz is truly unique with a very appealing sound.

Stream Young Broke & Fameless 2 below. My two favorites include “Beautiful Lies” and “Whiskey and Cocaine” but I enjoy almost all the tracks on this mixtape including the song featuring Tayyib Ali.

Asher Roth releases his newest track ”Pabst and Jazz” off his next mixtape with the same name. Just from the title alone you can tell it’s a slow relaxing sound with some jazz influence mixed with hip-hop in it which is always nice. The rapping is solid as well. I look forward to the release of the entire mixtape on Tuesday, in the meantime, enjoy!

Hendersin – Keep Ya Head Up (video) x I F.L.Y. (must-download mixtape)

December 12th, 2011 by | Album/Mixtape/EP Review, Hip-Hop/Rap, Mixtape Monday, Music Video |

click Hendersin Keep Ya Head Up (video) x I F.L.Y. (must download mixtape)Hendersin just released the official music video to his single, “Keep Ya Head Up” off his latest mixtape, I F.L.Y. (DOWNLOAD). I think the mixtape is a must-download that you need to listen to as Hendersin is a must-watch hip-hop artist. However, I think he chose the wrong song to release a music video for as it’s just sampled material from another song and he should have chosen one of the originals off the mixtape.

Hendersin is back with his fourth mixtape entitled I F.LY. By far his best work to date, the multi-talented Hendersin raps over a wide variety of beats including songs like “Hello”, “Keep Ya Head Up” and “Sometimes,” which are definite party hits, as well as others like “Back Home”, “In Love” and “Blue Sky (Freestyle)” which give you an inside look at the mind of the young rapper. With eleven self-produced tracks and all-star guest appearances from Kinetics (of Kinetics And One Love) and Collin McloughlinI F.L.Y. is a must download!

My favorites off the mixtape include “You Know The Way” ft. Missy Modell, “What You Looking At?”, “Sometimes” an “All Eyes On Me”.
