unnamed1 Preview: Red Bull Sound Selects 30 Days In LA *MUST SEE Shows! So we are soon approaching something very awesome in LA featuring over 60 musicians in a 30 day period in November. Starting November 1st through November 30th, Red Bull Sound Select has put together 30 concerts showcasing various talents and I can’t be more excited. My coworkers at The Grammys and I have been talking about this constantly about what shows were going to, as I’m really excited not only because of the musical variety that RBSS has curated during the month of November but highlighting local acts that need more attention and curating shows at venues all over this vast city of Angels. Below I’m here to tell you which 5 shows you definitely can’t miss! (more…)

Review: Culture Collide Festival (Miami Horror, Mystery Skulls, Gemini Club, Plastic Plates, Maya Vik, and Ghost Wave)

Review: Culture Collide Festival (Miami Horror, Mystery Skulls, Gemini Club, Plastic Plates, Maya Vik, and Ghost Wave)Late last week I caught Filter Magazine’s 4th Annual Culture Collide Festival. I went to days one and two of the three day festival and thoroughly enjoyed most of the acts I saw, although this years lineup didn’t have the same sexiness that previous lineups had, although Maya Vik is one sexy lead singer/guitarist! Read more below for reviews on the acts I enjoyed, which included: Maya VikGhost WavePlastic PlatesMiami Horror (DJ Set + live band), Gemini Club and Mystery Skulls.

I was going to write reviews of every band I saw but I didn’t enjoy every band and feel it’s better to not saying anything at all on them if I have nothing good to say.

Guide to an epic live music benefit party, The Ranch

February 25th, 2013 by | Alternative/Indie, Daily Mix, Electronic Dance Music, Mixtape Monday, Pop, Remix, Rock |

Guide to an epic live music benefit party, The RanchThe Ranch is an epic live music benefit party, nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles. In the spirit of the music scenes that came together in LA’s canyons, The Ranch Party allows you to come camp out at the top of Mulholland Drive for a full day & night of LA bands, Artists, DJs, food and drinks. The one-day festival takes place Saturday, music starting at 2pm and goes through the whole night with many emerging acts we are big fans. I’m most looking forward to seeing The Internet (of OFWGKTA), Mansions On The Moon, the drummer from Miami Horror (Good Night Keaton), Tropicool and Zak Waters.

For more details on the event, RSVP on facebook and visit TheRanchParty.com. It’s the best value concert coming up in LA as you can enjoy over 20 musicians in an all-day and night event for as little as $40 ($50 if you decide you want to camp out).

Here’s a 10-track playlist of the songs I can’t wait to hear live at The Ranch.

The playlist above doesn’t even include the chill summer vibes I expect Tropicool to spin, the electro house from Bones, and the trap from Neo Fresco.

Click read more to find out how you attending The Ranch Party benefits the youth community of LA! (more…)
