Kyle Bent – “Hurry Up”

June 12th, 2012 by | Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap, Music Video |

Kyle Bent is the definition of youngin on his grind. At the young age of 14, the high school freshman already has the skills of a veteran. Kyle Bent was born in Jamaica and later moved out to  Randolph MA, a suburb of Boston. The young emcee not only has some unbelievable talent but a fan base to support him. At first listen I was blown away, it’s kids like Kyle Bent  that keep the good name of Hip-hop alive.

Kyle  recently released his newest mixtape entitled “The Catalyst” which can be found on here) Kyle Bent also released visuals for his latest single “Hurry Up”. With Producerboyz producing the track and HLRboston making the visuals, you truly can’t go wrong. This kid definitely has a bright future ahead of him. Make sure to “like” his Facebook page and download “The Catalyst”.

ShakyBaby & Jon Solo – Tell Me You’re Crazy

Above is a behind the scenes look at The Incomparable Shakespeare’s music video for “Wonderwall”. Here’s what ShakyBaby said about the video:

You get a glimpse of the director Matthew Charof at work. You can also see the director of cinematography, Ryan John Lee doing his thing too.

See the music video here.

In other news, The Incomparable Shakespeare & Jon Solo teamed up once again for another solid indie rap/alternative hip-hop track. They call their collaboration Mix Mssg, which I really like because it fits with how they bring different styles, yet it works great when mixed together.

Sam Adams – Lolita x Lions Den

October 29th, 2010 by | Dance, Dubstep, Hip-Hop/Rap |

In “Lolita” Sam Adams raps over The Beach Boys’ “Good Vibrations,” a band I really love and the song is pretty good.

“Lions Den” was recorded before his Party Records mixtape and has that dubstep/hip-hop feel much like most of Sam Adams latest mixtape.

Wiz Khalifa – In My Car (Tha Puff Bus)

October 26th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Featuring Juicy J of Three Six Mafia, this is more of a laid back hip-hop song, much like Wiz Khalifa’s collaborations with Curren$y. Enjoy!

The Incomparable Shakespeare – 4.0 (Four Point Oh)

October 6th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

New track from The Incomparable Shakespeare. It’s a change from last week’s track by him, “Shades of Honeydew”.

Listen and download “4.0 (Four Point Oh)”.  4.0 (Four Point Oh) by shakeink
Here’s the write-up from The Incomparable Shakespeare:

This week’s leak is a special one because it’s actually my lead off/buzz single. It’s part anti-stereotype manifesto, part “eff the establishment”, all the while celebrating academic excellence.

The story behind it is an interesting one. A couple years ago, I was being courted by a bunch of major labels which culminated with a deal on Universal. Before landing the deal, I’d have meetings with A&R;’s who would be like, “you’re dope, but we don’t know what to do with you”. All the while I’d be balancing schoolwork and hustling music. Although things didn’t pan out as I wished, I learned that the industry’s business model is built on competition, not innovation. So instead of chasing the status quo, I began to really embrace the things that made me different. Although I’m 2 years removed from it, graduating Summa Cum Laude is one such thing. So while we often hear about drug dealers, grandiose living or rappers dropping out, I’m the proud graduate! (For the record, although I maintained a 4.0 for several consecutive semesters, my final GPA was a 3.85).

Tinie Tempah – Wonderman ft. Ellie Goulding

September 29th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |
Here’s a really good electro/hip-hop song by UK’s Tinie Tempah featuring fellow UK musician Ellie Goulding. The track is set to appear on Tinie’s upcoming debut album Disc-Overy which drops in the UK on October 4th. This song is also rumored to be his next single which makes sense since this track is awesome.

So Evan forgot to play this new Tinie Tempah on Before the Bigs Radio today. No worries, listen and download below.
