Mashup Monday: D.veloped

August 8th, 2011 by | Mashup, Mashup Monday |

Sorry for the inconsistencies with the various features we bring to you guys. With Mashup Monday, it’s not that we don’t have mashups to blog about, it’s just I’m not in the mood for mashups every Monday.

This week, we present to you D.veloped who probably released one of my new favorite mashups with “Brassified Information”. He used the instrumentals to my old ring-tone from The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, “The Impression That I Get”. Not only does he use probably the most awesome Ska band’s instrumentals as the beat to the song but grabs vocals from a couple of female hip-hop artists for a catchy fun mashup.
Brassified Information Ft. Missy & Nicki
Next we got “Son Of A Nun” which features Nelly and some interesting chill instrumentals.
Son Of A Nun Ft. Nelly
A must-download if you are a fan of Blink-182, probably my favorite band from the late 90’s/early 00’s period. D.veloped takes the instrumentals to “What’s My Age Again?” and uses a sick guitar riff sample to build a dope beat with hip-hop vocals from a few different hip-hop songs.
Throw Some D’s On That Blink
Lastly a mashup that features an indie folk/rock instrumental to open the song then with a hip-hop beat coming in with a variety of mainstream hip-hop/pop vocals with a T.I. vocal leading the way. This mashup picks up great.
Bring Em Home (Gold Jacket Remix)

Official Music Video: Kanye West – “Monster” (featuring Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Bon Iver & Nicki Minaj)

Months after Kanye West‘s hit album My Dark Twisted Fantasy released to the world, the visuals for “Monster” featuring Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and Nicki Minaj dropped over the weekend. Justin Vernon is not in it but this a very outrageous music video with dead women looking like play dolls through out. However, Nicki Minaj looks sexy as hell in this video (even when she wears the fake vampire teeth). Great music video to an awesome song. Enjoy!

Party remixes *The Killers, Joker, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Bee Gees

May 5th, 2011 by | Dance, Remix |

Because it’s Cinco de Mayo aka Drinko de Mayo for the kids who are going to rage tonight, here’s five remixes that you can bump when your partying.

First comes a remix from MADEON on The Killers “Smile Like You Mean It”. I used to be a big fan of The Killers then lead singer Brandon Flowers decided to go solo, and The Killers got kind of crappy. However MADEON does a banging remix to one of the best Killers songs.

Here’s an electro/hip-hop type remix. The original is from Joker and then The Rap Pack decided to remix it with some hip-hop. I love the beat, the rapping only adds to the dope quality, overall real interesting catchy remix.
Joker – Do It (The Rap Pack Remix)
Next is my favorite song of 2009, Usher‘s “Love In This Club” remixed by MSTRKRFT. I love how much more complex the instrumentals become with MSTRKRFT’s additions to the song, really making it a little more special. Must Download!
Usher – Love In This Club (MSTRKRFT Remix)
DJ Kue is at it again with his dance remix to “Moment 4 Life”. I like DJ Kue because he’s really good at making songs you can just hear all over dance clubs… I guess he makes straight bangers!

Teddybears stepped in and decided to remix one of the greatest disco songs from the Bee Gees. I think they did a great job making this new beat to the song and making it more contemporary. However, I will always enjoy the original more, even though this is real catchy.
Bee Gees – Stayin’ Alive (Teddybears Remix)

The Lonely Island – “The Creep” (featuring Nicki Minaj)

A new Lonely Island music video and track dropped last night and it is quite hilarious. It is called “The Creep” and it features Nicki Minaj. Their tracks are always super funny and this one is no different. Enjoy!

Hip-Hop Update

December 7th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, R&B |

Although the above video is around a month old and most of you have seen it, I thought I would post it because it’s kind of funny and the song isn’t half bad. Download “Down On Me” by Jeremih ft. 50 Cent

Rather than do individual posts on the new songs I like by some of the mainstream artists, here is one post with several of those songs.

One thing they all have in common; sexy beats with some solid flow. Enjoy!

Big Sean – The Big Nut Bust

Nicki Minaj – Blazin’ (feat. Kanye West)

Diddy – Coming Home (Ft. Skylar Grey)

Bulletproof remixes by Chris Webby and Colin Munroe

September 30th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Mashup, R&B, Remix |

Last week, Colin Munroe mashed-up La Roux’s “Bulletproof” with Nicki Minaj’s verse from Kanye’s song “Monster”. At first I was iffy on it but after a few listens I do enjoy how the songs mix and things its a good effort by Colin Munroe. This is the second installment off The Revox Suite, which are a series of remixes from Colin Munroe.  Colin Munroe – Bulletproof Monster (La Roux X Nicki Minaj Revox)

Today, Chris Webby released “Bulletproof” (credit 2DB), which sample’s La Roux and has Webby and Joell Ortiz rapping over it. This is the first leak off Chris Webby’s upcoming mixtape. I really like Chris Webby tracks when he samples other music and this is another good track from Webby.  Chris Webby-Bulletproof (Feat Joell Ortiz) by BeforeBigsZach
