Jon Kilmer Studios bangs out new SoLo & Chuck Revere

February 9th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

Jon Kilmer hit me up with two songs that came from his studios and I’m assuming his production. We usually don’t highlight the people behind the artists, but in terms of video production, music production and overall artist management, Jon Kilmer is somebody you should know about.

Below is two of the latest tracks out of Jon Kilmer Studios. First is a new single from SoLo called “P.A.R.T.Y” featuring Jerry Robinson. This is a nice upbeat, feel good, party track.
SoLo – P.A.R.T.Y (feat. Jerry Robinson)
Next Jon Kilmer introduced me to Quinnipiac University student Chuck Revere whose song “Wasted” has a dope Weezer sample and has solid party lyrical flow from Chuck Revere. Play this at your party or pre-game session, fresh guaranteed!

G-Eazy – Right Now

January 12th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

San Diego native G-Eazy hit us up with his latest track featuring Team Robot, “Right Now”. I don’t think “Right Now” is a better track than “Waspy” or “Good For Great” but still a solid track from rapper G-Eazy. I would love to hear this song as I am going up an elavator/stairs to an awesome party.

Tayyib Ali ft. Jazz Cartier – Bounce

December 12th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

After Tayyib’s great debut mixtape, Eighteen, he releases another sick track featuring another up and comer, Jazz Cartier. Real cool beat and Tayyib gives us his confident verses.

Matt Clarke – Come On Let’s Go

November 15th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

Boston’s Matt Clarke leaks another track off his upcoming mixtape, Clarke’s Bars, dropping later this month.

DJ Doubletake with the really good beat and Kj Miller adding some nice vocals on the hook makes for an enjoyable track by Matt Clarke. I expect some more hits once his mixtape drops as Clarke has some good rhymes.

Hidden Gem: Matt Clarke

November 7th, 2010 by | Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Matt Clarke has a rap/pop kind of music, with solid rhymes over some great beats. Above is the cover art for Clarke’s Bars, his upcoming mixtape dropping Mid-November.

Here’s a little bio on Matt Clarke:

From Arlington MA, right outside Boston. I’ve done shows with Juelz Santana, Jadakiss and the Lox, Stalley, Chris Webby and some other shows as well. The tape is called “Clarke’s Bars” and it should be out mid november sometime. It’s really just a good mix of concept tracks and bangas on original beats and industry beats. I’ve taken classes at Berklee and I’m currently in my last semester at Middlesex Community College. My music focuses around who I am as a person, the life of a college student, a year in prison and the death of loved ones.

Below are two of my favorites from Matt Clarke.

FlyRydaz – Leave Earth Tonight

October 4th, 2010 by | Dance, Electro, Hip-Hop/Rap |

New FlyRydaz, “Leave Earth Tonight”, an awesome upbeat track that continues a trend in the hip-hop industry towards using genres like electronica sub-genres which create catchy party songs. I dig it!

Nottz & Asher Roth – “Dontcha Wanna Be (My Neighbor)” featuring Colin Munroe

September 30th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Asher Roth has been coming out with many new tracks recently. He has been working closely with Nottz a lot as well and their song “Dontcha Wanna Be (My Neighbor)” featuring Colin Munroe is the newest song of theirs to hit the streets. It has the typical Asher Roth relaxing feel to it and is really nice to kick back and smoke a blunt to. Enjoy!

Sam Adams – Party Records (free mixtape)

September 22nd, 2010 by | Dance, Electro, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

Credit GMAD on getting this up first. I bring you Sam Adams 2nd mixtape, Party Records, which is produced by several people but mainly DJ Whoo Kid and DJ J. Cash (that’s why they are on the cover) and uses many top electronic music artists including Rusko, Deadmau5, and Bassnectar.

I would call Sam Adams an electronic hip-hop artist as he has transitioned to rapping over electronica beats, which is a good path for him. My favorite tracks are “Bass Head”, “Hold On” and “Share Your Dolla”.
