Stream: “Wilder” by Holmsey *laid back summer vibes

June 13th, 2017 by | Ambient, Chill/Jam/Reggae |

“Wilder” is the debut track from 18-year-old Australian musician Holmsey. Inspired by Australian bedroom producer turned sensation Flume, Mitchel Holmes (aka Holmsey) began developing his own signature sound determined to follow in the footsteps of his idol. Mitchell’s first original track “Wilder” instantly gained traction within numerous Youtube and Soundcloud tastemakers. “Wilder” was inspired by summer and is best consumed during calm warm summer nights.

Rizzle Kicks – Down With The Trumpets (Star Slinger Remix)

June 10th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Remix |

Buying music is so out these days, and UK DJ/Producer Star Slinger is taking advantage. He’s constantly releasing free music on his soundcloud page of originals and remixes, and it’s all awesome. Consequently, Star Slinger is gaining tons of new followers and building a super loyal fan base. His latest work is a remix of UK hip-hop group Rizzle Kicks’ track “Down with the Trumpets.” I know absolutely nothing about Rizzle Kicks, but on the remix, Star Slinger builds a hot beat with an original latin feel to it, and creates a serious jam! I had no idea the UK could be so based.

Everything that Star Slinger touches turns to gold, so do yourself a favor and follow him on Facebook and Twitter. He’s coming back across the pond for a national US tour which should be huge. The based dance party is coming. Be there.

AMTRAC – Take Your Throne

April 11th, 2011 by | Techno |

Amtrac is a sick up-and-coming DJ out of South Florida with a unique style. Techno and Electronic music has just been getting more and more intense these days, but Amtrac is bringing back light music that’s just fun to dance to. His music is perfect for anything from a packed club in South Beach to just hanging out with your friends. Check out one his latest tracks, “Take Your Throne,” on which he actually throws a little dub in there for good measure. Keep an eye on Amtrac, he’ll be making some major moves before you know it.

The Best of Brenton Duvall

April 6th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Mashup, Remix |

Brenton Duvall has been lighting up the internet quite often in the last year now. He has really made a name for himself and has paved the way to become an extremely successful producer/mashup artist. This kid has a great ear for music putting together bits and pieces of popular tracks with quite different sounds from one another, making it mesh together nicely. Below are some of my favorite mashups by him:

“Mean Planes and Taylor Gangs”

“Blow the Skrilla”

“Time For What You Want”

You all know and love this kid and his music. Expect to hear many more mashups and remixes by him in the very near future. Brenton Duvall is taking over as a producer and he is only getting better with each new track that he comes out with. Look for him on the Animal House Tour with XV, Machine Gun Kelly, The Dean’s List and others going on now. Enjoy!

Siegz edit: One of the best Brenton Duvall produced hip-hop songs, “Strange Times”, put out an unofficial video featuring Brenton Duvall and the rapper Young Prince. See it below including download link. (more…)

Chilly Gonzales – You Can Dance *my dirty interesting pleasure

February 10th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Electro, Electropop, Music Video, Pop |

Are you ready to DANCE!?! Seriously, this is one of my favorite songs I have heard in the last month or so and it’s a good song because it’s tough to define it. This can be retro-futuristic, electro-pop but whatever you want to define it as, you can’t deny wanting to shake your hips a little while listening to it.

It’s just a really interesting song, it is kind of mainstream with over 350,000 youtube views but if your looking to dance in a more chill atmosphere, like in your room or hanging with some friends, play this song and you better shake your hips too!

Above is the 3 minute music video version, but the 5 minute original version is so much better. Download

By the way, Chilly Gonzales is also a producer with his album and film, “Ivory Tower” being of the same name. Look him up and I think you will find he’s pretty interesting, much like the song above.

Bibio, instrumentally awesome

November 30th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie |

Bibio, who I learned about from the comments in this post, produces some good music. The British music producer has some interesting music that you won’t hear on the radio but are enjoyable nonetheless.

Here are a couple of my favorites.

Lovers’ Carvings

Ambivalence Avenue

If you like these songs, you can buy Ambivalence Avenue, Bibio’s latest album release featuring these songs and more.

Mark Ronson – Record Collection

October 3rd, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |
I have been waiting too long to write about Mark Ronson. Earlier this week, he released his third studio album, Record Collection. The album is his best yet with a mix of genres.
Below are two of my favorite hip-hop tracks from Mark Ronson & The Business International, which is Ronson’s band name for the release of this album.  Mark Ronson feat. Ghostface Killah – Lose It (In The End) by jahyummy2010  Mark Ronson & the Business International – Bang, Bang, Bang (Feat. Q-tip) by waveofsounds

Ski Beatz, producer to 24 Hour Karate School (debut album)

September 20th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Ski Beatz has been in the hip-hop industry since 1989 and has worked with artists such as Jay-Z in his early work, rap duo Camp Lo, Fat Joe, Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim, Joell Ortiz and up-and-coming rapper Curren$y.

**Update: I realized Ski Beatz isn’t an artist but produced all the songs and got a bunch of incredible artists to perform the songs. Ski Beatz is pretty much like DJ Khaled, an awesome producer with incredible artists performing over his songs.**

In 2010, he decided to release his debut album as an artist, entitled 24 Hour Karate School, which drops tomorrow. I have heard three tracks from it and they are all really good songs with features from Jim Jones and Curren$y, Mos Def, and Jay Electronica among others.

Here are two of my favorites off the upcoming album; “Go” and “I Got Mines”.  Ski Beatz feat. Jim Jones & Curren$y: Go  Ski Beatz – I Got Mines (Feat. Tabi Bonney, Nikki Wray, Ras Kass, Stalley) by BeforeBigsZach

24 Hour Karate School tracklisting:

Make sure to get Ski Beatz debut album, 24 Hour Karate School, I expect it to be really dope with all the incredible features and the songs I have already heard.
