Free Album: Rich Kid Sound System – No Cheers for Pioneers

July 11th, 2012 by | Album/Mixtape/EP Review, Alternative/Indie, Electronic Rock, Electropop, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, Rock |

Here’s a MUST-DOWNLOAD project from MY FAVORITE genre-blending band I’ve had the chance to see live, Rich Kid Sound System. I’ve been following this group since summer 2010 and each track they have released since has been better than before. This is a group that you need to keep an eye on as they just released their long-awaited album, No Cheers For Pioneers (DOWNLOAD).

Stream an 8-track sampler of the 17-track mixtape which includes my old favorites “Get What You Give”, “Hey! Young Girl!”, “I Want It All” and “A Little Bit Of Time”. Before listening to that, here’s my new favorite track off No Cheers For Pioneers, “Why Don’t They Dance”.

Download: Rich Kid Sound System – Say It Ain’t Sew *hip-hop

March 14th, 2012 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Here’s an original Rich Kid Sound System song that didn’t make their their upcoming album. It came out about an hour ago, don’t have much details yet but I will be sure to add some more details when I get word from RKSS.

“Say It Ain’t Sew” has a must-listen guitar riff, solid hip-hop rhymes and even though it’s a little on the simplistic side and leaves you wanting more, I think this is still a solid song but I see why it was left off the album. Enjoy “Say It Ain’t Sew” below!

Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know (RKSS Remix)

January 6th, 2012 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Remix |

For this BEACH DAY installment, Rich Kid Sound System decided to do something a little different than they are used to and remix Gotye – “Somebody That I Used To Know” … RKSS had lots of fun with this! The rapping is solid but overall with a catchy alternative sample like Gotye, it really puts your music on some next level ish.

Two new songs from Rich Kid Sound System which are the next installment as part of their “BEACH DAY” Wednesday releases building up to the release of their “No Cheers for Pioneers EP” (No official release date).

“Hey! Young Girl!” once again shows that RKSS never has a problem coming up with a catchy hook and fun instrumentals.

Rich Kid Sound System – “Sonnet 27”

May 25th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie |

Less than three weeks after releasing “Not Far From Home“, Rich Kid Sound System returns with yet another hit just in time for the start of summer. It’s called “Sonnet 27” and it has a great beachy, laid-back sound to it that we are used to hearing out of them. I really enjoy this track and I know you will as well!

Rich Kid Sound System – Not Far From Home

It’s been a little of a month since I’ve heard from Rich Kid Sound System but they are back with an awesome new track. This song is called “Not Far From Home” and it has the laid back, summer, hip-hop sound to it that we know and love from the group. This is off their upcoming EP which was supposed to drop on April 20th but has since been pushed back a little bit. This new track provides a positive start to the summer and a very enjoyable beginning of summer holiday, Cinco de Mayo. Enjoy!

Rich Kid Sound System – Talk About Us *alternative hip-pop

March 30th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, Rock |

Rich Kid Sound System is finally out with a new track which has a slightly more pop feel with a stronger, catchy hook, dope rapping as usual and instrumentals that are off the hook in their newest track, “Talk About Us”.

This song will be off RKSS’ upcoming mixtape, Death Of A Frat Rapper, due out on 4/20. Nice mixtape title by the way!

Also if you’re in Orlando, RKSS will be performing Florida Music Festival on April 9th.

This Florida hip-hop/alternative rock band is only getting better! Follow them on twitter!

Hidden Gem: Rich Kid Sound System

November 2nd, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

I heard of these guys back in July through P&P, decided to wait on giving them “hidden gem” status until I heard another song, which I heard today. I featured their first song “A Little Bit Of Time” on our 25-track end of summer “Best You Never Heard” mix (download).

This Florida-based hip-hop band has instrumentals and mixes genres so it’s hard to give them a music category, much like SomeWhere Else.

I think awesome would suffice as a music category for them, or maybe hip-pop. Any other categories of music for RKSS.
