There’s tons of remixes out there but I think this is one that really does take the song in a different direction, while keeping many elements from the original that make it great. Robotic Pirate Monkey – Colors In Disguise (Free album)

Robotic Pirate Monkey Colors In Disguise (Free album)Robotic Pirate Monkey aka RPM just released their long awaited debut full-length album, Colors In Disguise. Making a name for themselves a year and half ago with their popular remixes of Dolly Parton‘s “Jolene” and Bob Marley’s “Mr. Brown”, RPM solidified their place in the very dense Colorado electronic scene.

With this release, RPM continues to bring something unique and fresh to the ever growing electronic music world. The walls that separate genres get torn down as they bridge the gap between dubstep, electro, drum and bass, glitch and hip hop. The sample based production evokes nostalgia with reminiscences of music from the past, while the modern day synthesis of bass heavy melodies give their music the power and energy to get you dancing.

My two favorite tracks off Colors In Disguise are “Party Animal” and “Rio de Fuego”. Listen and download the album below!

Robotic Pirate Monkey – Rio de Fuego *electronic single

Robotic Pirate Monkey Rio de Fuego *electronic singleShout out to Freedzy for turning me onto Boulder, Colorado electronic artist, Robotic Pirate Monkey. Recently RPM’s management sent us “Rio de Fuego” the first single off their upcoming project to be released on Halloween! I just love the instrumentals which incorporate various elements not common with most electronic songs. “Rio de Fuego” isn’t one of those songs filled with synths but sounds real natural.

Robotic Pirate Monkey Spliffton Doobinski ft. Richie SpiceColorado dubstep jammers Robotic Pirate Monkey are following up their recent Sidetracked EP by dropping a new dank single appropriately titled “Spliffton Doobinski.” The track starts with some heavily dubbed out reggae before mixing in the whomps and fat bass that we’re used to from RPM. Listen to the track and put it right into your late night smoking mix.

Shouts to thissongissick.com for turning me onto these guys. Follow RPM on Facebook for updates on their California tour where they are apparently tearing it up.

RPM Sidetracked EP Final Robotic Pirate Monkey – Sidetracked (EP)

Robotic Pirate Monkey are a dubstep trio from Colorado that has been making a lot of noise recently. Last week, they sold out the Fox Theatre in Boulder for a rowdy show in honor of the release of their newest Sidetracked EP. The EP is 4 awesome dubstep remixes to some pretty unusual tracks, my favorite being their chilled out take on “Peaches” by the Presidents of the United States of America. These guys get even more respect because there is so much dubstep and other DJ stuff coming out of the area, but RPM has managed to separate themselves from the crowd. Trust me, that’s not an easy thing to do out here. Check out their EP below thanks to ThisSongIsSick.com
