Jhameel – White Lie x Collision *alternative pop/rock

November 15th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Pop, Rock |

For that chill alternative pop/rock with a unique sound, look no further than Jhameel. I’m a huge fan of this act, not only because I saw them live, but because of this song too.

WAVES is a new music series from Jhameel. Every Tuesday for five weeks, Jhameel will release a brand new track available to stream or download completely free.  Each song will also be accompanied by its own individual artwork, and all will remain available following their release.
The two songs below, “White Lie” and “Collision” are a part of the WAVES music series Jhameel is taking part in.

Hidden Gem: Jhameel *Indie-Pop

September 12th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Hidden Gem, Pop |

Jhameel is an up-and-coming indie pop artist out of San Francisco. Here’s what his manager wrote to us:

Jhameel creates passionate music that stands out, leading with powerfully sung, soulful melodies which are backed by instrumentation inspired by truly eclectic sources (Prince, MGMT).  It’s the kind of genre defying modern music that is perfect for Before the Bigs. Not to mention, he plays every single instrument on his records himself!

Here’s my four most recent favorites from Jhameel.

new mixtape! K. Flay – MASHed Potatoes

September 6th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap |

K. Flay’s latest mixtape is so dope! It’s FIRE!

Please download and support this indie rap artist who hails from Illinois, went to Stanford University, and currently lives in SF. She is going on the Campus Consciousness Tour in October with Passion Pit. Find more info about it on her homepage and like her on facebook if you like this mixtape.

Recently, K. Flay released MASHed Potatoes and I enjoy just about every song on it. My favorites are “CRAZYtown” for it’s lyrics, “ON the bridge” for it’s Chili Pepper sample, and “love in this CLUB MED” for its Usher sample and sweet lyrics.
