Here’s a must-listen vocal house jam from Silver Medallion. This is the next big single on DJ Benzi’s Get Right Records, an addicting vocal house jam produced by DJ Dstar (1/2 of Solidisco), that’s sure to be stuck in your heads all summer.
The single will be released along with a full remix pack on July 10 on Beatport and iTunes and will include remixes from GTA and Udachi as well as the extended and instrumental versions of “Stay Young”.
To kick off his Glow Sticks for Breakfast Tour with Hyper Crush, Black Cards and Benzi, Silver Medallion released a brand new music video for his song “The Young and The Reckless”. The song produced by Spadez, is a high energy anthem dedicated to the lifestyles of the young and the reckless. The video was captured by director Jr Kc the night of Silver Medallion‘s recent show in Boise, ID.

Here’s some new music from Brooklyn producer Dave Edwards and electronic pop artist Silver Medallion. The song, titled “American Girl”, is a huge summer house anthem that will leave wishing that summer was already here. According to Silver Medallion, the song is “dance song about girls, america, circa 2004 Lindsay Lohan, house music and everything that’s amazing in the world”.
As part of our latest edition of Electronic Tuesday, we present you the three latest songs from up-and-comerSilver Medallion.
The first track, “The Young and The Reckless” has a heavy hitting Electro backdrop along with Silver Medallion‘s high energy vocals to make it perfect for those who live by the motto “live fast, die young”.
Next is a collaborative effort from Silver Medallion and Feature Cuts. Once you take a listen to the track, the duo compliments each other quite nicely and their style of music together is unlike anything that is being currently released.
The last track, I’d rather take a quote from Silver Medallion explaining his song with Dunson:
“Trainwreck is a saga of New York City bars, a story of people too in love with themselves to see past the whiskey glasses. I feel the sounds of the beat replicate the darkness and intensity of that yearning party night, when you’re looking in a girls eyes and don’t see anything there, when you’re walking in the cold spinning drunk, when you wake up wondering why you’re life is the way it is.” – Silver Medallion
There’s a video for “Trainwreck” too. Watch it below. (more…)
It’s that time of the month again for the best soundcloud submissions from the month of November. We got a new Soundcloud so feel free to send us new music there or just email us at email@example.com if you got some new tunes you think we will dig.
The most recent submission we got was from a guy named U Nu (pronounced: oo – noo). U Nu combines electronic and organic sounds out there, drawing elements from the indie rock and electronic world, while not shying away from hip hop beats, latin rhythms, instrumental freakouts, beatboxing, and sampling a guy scratching his beard (among other things). As of two weeks ago, U Nu released his first album “Summer of Rain”. The album is entirely composed, performed, recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered by him; he even did all of the artwork! So? Enticed? I recommend going to his bandcamp if you want the full album experience. Stream “Mind The Gap” below. Mind the Gap by U_Nu
Next we got a killer remix from the Tune In Crew. They remixed the Kelly Rowland/Big Sean song, “Lay It On Me”, giving it an electro banger feel. Here’s what they said about their remix:
This time we’ve chosen to make it progressive, melting electro, pop and urban trends, for a track most of all designed to set the Dancefloor on fire!
We are proud to introduce you to Boston electronic house DJ Mike Irish. His latest banger, “Technicolor”, is a must-listen and Mike Irish is a DJ you need to keep an eye on as he has loads of potential just from what you hear off “Technicolor”. Technicolor by MikeIrishMusic
We are also proud to introduce you to Seattle MC BenniB. He sent us three songs off his latest mixtape, Journal of a Journey. Out of the three songs, I enjoyed “I Won’t Crash” the most. Being from Seattle, he reminds me of Macklemore and some other white alternative hip-hop acts out there today. I think he’s got potential as he further defines his sound and hopefully makes it sound more different than the other rising Seattle MCs out there. BenniB – I Won’t Crash by bennibmusic
I saved the best for last withSilver Medallion‘s new single, “Stars”. This actually came out in October and was Silver Medallion‘s second release on DJ Benzi‘s Get Right Records. This uptempo house track proves Silver Medallion has a bright future in the music industry. It’s July, which means were about half-way through 2011. It’s been a great year so far, but I cannot wait for more great new music. Here’s our five best soundcloud submissions of June:
First we go with Leann Grimes with “Private Baller (Buffet). I just love how all these instrumentals are utilized and are mixed so well by Grimes. If you like this song, check out our last post on Leann Grimes. Find more on Soundcloud. Private Baller (Buffet) Next comes a hip-pop song from Hollidayrain featuring Kenton Dunson. “Up” is basically like the song title, an upbeat dance hip-hop/pop track that’s real catchy. Up (ft. Kenton Dunson) by Hollidayrain
Next comes a bangin’ electro/house mashup from DJ Burnout. He sent me several tracks and out of all of them, “Last Cinema Bass Levels” turned out to be my favorite. Forgot to mention this is a Before the Bigs exclusive, so let us know if you like it and want more from him. Also check out more DJ Burnout on soundcloud. DJ Burnout – Last Cinema Bass Levels (mashup)
Next comes Silver Medallion with a solid electro-pop track, “Lost Ones”. It’s not my favorite track from him, but still enjoyable, wish there was a little rap on it though. Find more Silver Medallion on soundcloud. Lost Ones
Lastly comes a chill pop/rock song that starts off a bit slow but then picks up a little bit more as the song moves along. It’s a solid song but I have a feeling they have potential for better songs. Download “In Silence”. Abandoned Pools – In Silence
It’s been too long since I finally started blogging about this group and it’s not because of their latest music video, “Blackmail” although that’s a quality sample/remix of another song I really like.
Silver Medallion is a electro/hip-pop artist with a variety of sounds to form a new sound. Some of his songs are solid while others are really good. So far I have enjoyed many of their latest songs and below have put my three favorites.
“Blackmail”, featuring LA Boys Noize collaborator and Dip Dive artist Dame Fifty5 samples/covers/remixes Phantogram‘s “When I’m Small”. The song debuts a new sound for Silver Medallion and will be featured on their upcoming upcoming indie rock mixtape.
Next are two older tracks that have caught my ear that I consider their best original tracks. My Dream Live Forever (Produced By Overwerk)
If you like Silver Medallion let us know and we will be sure to bring you more. Music video to “Blackmail” plus a little description on it after the jump. (more…)
